Since the clock went back to daylight savings, it feels like also the weather collapsed together with the feeling of how long there is daylight. What always works for me it just heading outside. Taking the fresh air in walking around with the doggo. Everything to get the feeling that there is still an outside world and not only dark outside.
Luckily heading outside it beautiful at the moment. All trees seem to be multi colour at the moment as you can see in this post but it is also starting to get a little bit slippery with all of the leaves outside everywhere. so it isn't bad at all to take some walks in the woods. These woods are currently starting to fill up again with mushrooms everywhere in all sort of sizes and shapes.
I ran into the the startard ones without even having to search for them. Between the leaves but especially living on old fallen trees that is where the like to hang out. I haven't seen any of these classic red an white shrooms anywhere, but I can imagine that heading a bit more into the fields will also open the doors to finding them.
I read a little article in the newspaper earlier in the week about that foresters were continuing to check the forests on that people were not taking too much out of them. Here in the Netherlands you are allowed to pluck on little container per person and for personal use on these shrooms. But honestly....I wouldn't think these guys are eadible. Better said: also when the dog is sniffing on them I also tend to pull him away. I don't have that forest knowledge and I am also not really keen to find out if they are eadible.
But I do like the sight of them and also that the signs of autumn are here. These kinds of things enhance the fact that it is a good idea to take some more outside time, even though it isn't always that attractive.
How is the shroom status in your area? And are you plucking them for your own consumption or are you leaving this to the pro's?
