Once I had a conversation with this dude who was doing a lot of photography about that he was always ready to rush outside when the weather was kind of questionable. For me I love bue skies and endless farsights. But he was totally eager about when the sky was turning gray and his statement was 'for a good shot, you always need some kind of clouds in there'. I am coming to understand this more and more.
For getting some sweet shots the contrast is nice and the coast of Normandy was just the place for this. The combination of incoming weather always coming from the ocean (the channel and the combination of land and sea makes it that there is almost always the same kind of winds) and the farsights that you have from here were just stunning when you are someone who likes to look at the clouds.
I have a bit of the in between love for this. I really like nice weather and when you see these kinds of clouds and skies rolling in, you just know it is just a matter of time before you need to seek some serious shelter somewhere. The weather here is brutal and the rains are short and heavy. You can almost set the clock on when the rain will hit. But when you are like me, it means you are looking too long at the radar and too long at the skies and that means you will end up soaked entirely to the bone.
Regardless this is nature at its finest here. The weather is something we can't change so we might as well see the beauty of it. And with these super long coastlines, big cliffs, small towns and little harbours and sunsets which set the sky on fire this was not really a challenge.

Well I like walking in the rain as long as it is warm. If my underwear or socks get wet it gets uncomfortable I will whine.
