I was thinking about that Willy Nelson song called 'On the road again' while I stepped into the train. It was the start of the weekend and in the Netherlands that means you have that shift on student that have their week train card, and the ones that have the weekend train card who get to travel for free. Which means there was a lot going on and people were on the road from A to B.

The system of the free train cards has always been a good one if you asked me, it gived people the chance to get to know the country in that period of time. Beyond that point trains here have gotten way too expensive. But when you are in the capital of the city the costs of parking are even more crazy so it makes sense to still catch a train to get to your destination.

A couple of years back I decided I didn't want to live in the city centres anymore because I like it a bit more quiet. More that you have the option to look for people and stuff to do, but you don't always have to be in there. While I was looking around at those train stations I am always wondering where everyone is heading to. What their destination is. Would they mind if there was a delay, or would that be a catasprophe?

And then the train departed the city again and to its next turn into the field which define the Netherlands so much. Endless fields, October fog hanging over them and even making it kind of spooky. Just a minute after the busy stops were there, the calm had returned already. The field were still filled with cows, just chilling in groups together as they always do.

I found that the battery of my phone had drained again, because the connection in nomansland tends to eat the electronical juice of the device even while not using it. I looked up from my screen back out of the window as I always do. I literally don't need anything when I am in a train. Just a view and maybe some tunes in the background when I am not eavesdropping on other peoples conversations.

I saw this girl who was doing a full make up routine in the train. She enetered a bit as a hobbit and left for the next stop looking like a queen, and that even on a moving train. I was listening to a dude who was discussing the future of his company over the phone while everyone was able to hear how bad his company was doing.

There is just a part of life where everyone makes their daily business public in the train. And who am I not to observe what everyone else is doing. I love spending time in trains!
