It was a normal day when my father brought home a wild mushroom for dinner. He came back from a trip from our province in Carcar, Philippines. At first I was hesitant if I can really eat the mushroom since I have not tried it ever since.

"Lagbos" is the local name of the mushroom but it's Scientific Name is Macrolepiota albuminosa , it is a local mushroom that can be found in humid and grassy mountains here in the Philippines. It has a long stem and wide plant head and is safe to eat.

My father washed the mushroom first and since it is naturally soft, he just shred the mushroom to pieces using his hands. It looks like chicken meat so I am very excited to try my first wild mushroom.

He cooked it in a pan using spices and soy sauce, no other meat was added just the mushroom. The moment I tasted the meal, I am very shocked because it is very delicious. The mushroom itself is very juicy and tasty and it also has its unique taste. It can be a good and healthy replacement for a chicken or pig's meat.

So, instead of eating animal meat, I encouraged my father to bring more Lagbos so that I can eat this instead of meat and chicken meat that is unhealthy.
