Hello hivers, especially for the people of Aceh, Indonesia. Have you ever been to this mosque? Of course you've been here, haven't you, this is one of the largest mosques in Aceh and the only mosque that is the vocal point of the capital city of Aceh, namely Banda Aceh City. Its name is Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. I stopped here with some of my friends to worship, but after we were ready to worship we took the initiative to take some photos as a sign that we had been here.
Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is one of the mosques located in Kampung Baru Village, Baiturrahman District, Banda Aceh City, Indonesia. In general, the people of Aceh use this mosque as a place of worship and to broadcast Islam.
Baiturrahman Grand Mosque was founded in 1292 AD by a sultan named "Sultan Alauddin Mahmud Syah I". This mosque was first built using wood material with thatched roofs. This mosque was also controlled by the Dutch during the attack on Aceh in 1873 under the command of General Kohler and the Dutch had burned this mosque in 1874 during the second raid. Then in 1879 the Dutch rebuilt it on the advice of Snouck Horgronje.
This mosque was designed by a captain named Genie Marechause and the inauguration of the first stone was carried out by Teungku Malikul Adil and witnessed by Dutch dignitaries. The design of "Mesjid Raya Baiturrahman" reflects the style of European Architecture and Islamic Architecture. Initially the "Baiturrahman Grand Mosque" only had one dome, but after a few years later added 2 more and finally it became 5 domes.
