I tell you what, if you are a fan of fish then you need to check out Scotts in London. One of London’s landmark restaurants, Scotts opened as an oyster warehouse in 1851, evolving rapidly into the mecca for traditional fish, shellfish, meat and seasonal game that we know today. Two new private dining rooms join a grand, polished wood-panelled, high-ceilinged dining room populated by everyone from theatregoers to investment bankers. A central marble oyster and Champagne bar appears like a curving stone altar for the display of seafood on ice while head chef Dave McCarthy’s dishes – think potted shrimps, Aylesbury rump of lamb, Paris-Brest – are the last word in refined comfort.
I opted for the Prawns to start and Turbot for main... What would you go for?
