EN Hola hola everyone! I hope you all had a good holiday. Enjoy the last week of the year... As 2023 comes to it's end I share also the end of my trip. Last time I shared about Quixaya, the place where the heart of the water is. Todas I share with you our next location, San Juan la Laguna in Solola. This town is one of many towns that surround Lake Atitlan. It has become a tourism hub in the last years. We came here with the group of students to have spanish lessons and do homestays. We also took the opportunity to walk around town and get to know about natural dyes and weaving, coffee and honey and the cooperatvism movement as well as entrepeneurship projects. Here I attach 2 photos. The first one is of the group walking to farming lesson and behind them we can see the "Rostro Maya" a famous mountain from which at the top of it, people observe its notorious sunrises. The second image is of the "Palo Volador" tree, famously known for its's use in a traditional and pre-hispanic dance.

ES Hola, hola a todos! Espero que hayan pasado unas buenas vacaciones. Disfruten de la última semana del año... Como 2023 llega a su fin comparto también el final de mi viaje. La última vez compartí sobre Quixaya, el lugar donde está el corazón del agua. Hoy les comparto nuestro siguiente lugar, San Juan la Laguna en Solola. Este pueblo es uno de los muchos pueblos que rodean el Lago de Atitlan. Se ha convertido en un centro turístico en los últimos años. Vinimos aquí con el grupo de estudiantes para tener clases de español y hacer homestays. Tambien aprovechamos para pasear por el pueblo y conocer sobre tintes naturales y tejidos, cafe y miel y el movimiento cooperativista asi como proyectos de emprendimiento. Aquí adjunto 2 fotos. La primera es del grupo caminando hacia una clase de agricultura y detrás de ellos podemos ver el "Rostro Maya" una famosa montaña desde cuya cima la gente observa sus notorios amaneceres. La segunda imagen es del árbol del "Palo Volador", famoso por su uso en una danza tradicional, prehispánica.
