The LP chooses it's Presidential and VP candidates separately. Usually they give preference to the Presidential candidate's preference, but they don't have to. For instance, four years ago, Jo wanted John Monds. The delegates, in part because they were burned by Bill Weld the time before, chose Spike instead. Personally, I voted for both Jo and Spike every round.
The Republicans and Democrats don't really do that. They'll fall in line behind whoever their nominee wants to run with and that's all there is to it. Because of that, I haven't really been paying much attention to who Kamala's likely options are, because she'll pick whoever she picks.
In most cycles, I would have checked out the possibilities a little bit, but I've only got so much time on my hands and it's been such a busy election cycle lately. I haven't even checked out Shapiro, I've only heard his name mentioned a lot as a possibility by people who have been following it more closely.
