My Recipe
This is really an ooozing dish. We love to go to chinese restaurants and order Sweet and Sour Pork, but sometimes it is boring to get the same dish only because it is your favorite. My husband´s fave dish is the crispy duck where you can choose your sauce. If we order these food, we always ask that the sauce be in a separate plate so we can simply dip the meat or veggies it as we like it. Last time, I ordered a Spicy Sweet and Sour Pork, it was delish. I would not dare to order a food when it has chili, but my order had been mild. So I swear, I would make this at home. The ingredients might not be perfect but I think this isn´t that bad. And here is my version.
Spicy Sweet & Sour Pork
Ingredients:
300 grams Pork filet sliced into bite pieces
2 cloves crushed garlic, minced
1 onion, peeled and sliced
2carrots, 1 celery stalk, 1 zucchini, 1 each red and yellow
bell pepper ....all peeled if necessary and diced or cut into bite)pieces
2 cups beef broth
soy sauce
Sambal Olek (chili paste)
vegetable cooking oil
1 tablespoon flour
salt
Ground black pepper
Stevia liquid sweetener around 4-5 drops or 1/2 tablespoon in powder form, be sure to taste first according to your sweet preference.
Preparations:
Make the ingredients ready before you start cooking

1...In a bowl, marinate the pork with 1 tablespoon soy sauce for about 10 minutes. In a pan with 2 tablespoon hot oil, stir-fry the pork pieces until pale or golden brown in color. Set aside for later use.

2...In the same hot pan, fry the garlic and the onion til brown in color

3... Add the cut vegetables, stir fry until all become slightly soft.

4... Add 1-2 tablespoon soy sauce... stir to evenly coat the veggies.

5... Add 2 cups of beef broth with diluted 1 tablespoon flour to the vegetable mixture, let boil then set fire to low and cook for 10 minutes stirring all the time. Add the pork pieces, mix thoroughly to combine pork with the veggies. When the liquid has almost evaporated, add more beef broth (about 1/2 cup) .

6... Add 1/2 teaspoon chili paste to the mixture, adjust the salt and pepper, as well as the sweetener according to your taste preference and combine well. Transfer the Spicy Sweet and Sour Pork on a serving plate, serve hot with boiled rice, then you are done with cooking this dish.

I hope you will try this version of mine...Enjoy this mild spicy dish!

That´s it for the time being.... until next time, see you around!

Hmmmm! looks very delicious!...I am already salivating and it makes me hungry if I look more of it. I would like to have it but without the chili spice.
Well, tell your mom to cook this without the chili... it will still taste mild but good.
