craving for something sweet? Here's My Jelly Roll Cake and Orange Chiffon Custard Cake

Are you in the mood for something sweet?

These cakes made for a delightful dessert- don't they look absolutely tempting?

Ingredients :

6 eggs, separated

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 cup hot water

1/2 teaspoon salt

1-1/2 cups sugar, divided

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Confectioners' sugar ( use for after bake of the cake)

1 teaspoon lemon extract

1-1/4 cups cake flour

Directions

  1. Place egg whites in large bowl; let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Line a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan with waxed paper; grease the paper and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, beat egg yolks on high speed 3 minutes. Add gradually water while continuing to beat or until thick and lemon-colored. Gradually beat in 1 cup sugar. Stir in extracts.

  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together twice; gradually add to yolk mixture and mix well (batter will be very thick). Set aside.

  4. Add cream of tartar to egg whites; with clean beaters, beat on medium until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating on high after each addition until sugar is dissolved. Continue beating until soft glossy peaks form. Fold a fourth of the egg whites into batter, then fold in remaining whites. Spread evenly into prepared pan.

  5. Bake 15-18 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Cool 5 minutes. Invert onto a kitchen towel dusted with confectioners' sugar. Gently peel off waxed paper.

Roll up cake in the towel jelly-roll style, starting with a short side. Cool completely on a wire rack

and slice it

410 ml evaporated milk

1 can

350 ml condense milk

3-4 tbsp

white sugar (for pan preparation)

FOR THE CAKE BATTER

3 cup

cake flour

2/3 cup

white sugar

1 1/2 tbsp

baking powder

7 pcs

egg yolk

1/3 cup

oil

%-1 cup

orange soda

FOR THE CAKE MERINGUE

9 pcs

egg whites

1½ tsp

cream of tartar

2/3 cup

white sugar

Instruction:

  1. In a bowl mix all ingredients for the custard until well blended. Stain the mixture in a fine sieve.

  2. Prepare the pan by caramelizing 3-4 tablespoons sugar on the bottom of the pan

  3. in a bowl mix together cake flour, sugar and baking powder. Make a well and put in the center the yolk, oil and orange soda. stir slowly until the batter is well blended and smooth

  4. in a separate bowl beat egg whites until soft peaks forms. Add sugar gradually while constantly beating. Beat until stiff peak forms

  1. cut and fold the batter mixture to the meringue. Pour in the prepared pan then bake.
