I spent a beautiful day in the monastery in Schoental (Germany)
I spent a day in the monastery in Schoental (Germany). Unfortunately, I WAS not able to photograph the inside of the monastery THAT DAY. The nature around the monastery is always impressive, in all seasons. The monastery was founded around 1153.
Today the buildings are used by the Catholic Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart as a conference center, as a forest school home for schools, and as the town hall of the Schoental community.
The history is long: the monastery has survived monks, wars, knights, and me...
Inside there are many artists’ works, statues, a large organ, and many drawings.
There is a lot to discover around the monastery: the landscaped garden, a former train station, and lots of nature for hiking and jogging.
Pictures are made with a sony handy Xperia 10 IV.
