Bangkok has been busy making metro systems and this subterranean mall is part of the result. Nice and cool underground, the lighting and long corridor make for some interesting semi-abstract photo opportunities ..
Possibly featured before - a highlight. Wondering around the town of Sattahip one day when chancing upon an old lady and her daily driver - a very quirky and cool Honda S600 coupe. Very rare indeed, amazed to see it on the streets picking up a gas bottle.
Typically, on any day I'm really hungry and don't want the expense of delivery or a restaurant. It's street food, or rather these days street side local eateries. Here, a plate utterly crammed with nutrition for under $2 ...
It's a very cute dog, sitting on a bike, awaiting its owner to re-appear from inside of the 7-eleven. Loyal puppy doesn't need a harness and just waits sitting on the bike. What a sight.
Utterly extraordinary and stunning wall graffiti along Da Nang beach in Vietnam. The level of detail and composure in this work, it should be in a gallery. Yet it's just a street graffiti. This art form is truly a global one.
Featured yesterday, today from a different angle with bokeh effects. It's another rare Honda, this time the more modern Integra Type R. What a beast, we'd sure like to get our hands on one.
Coffee, coffee, coffee. A favorite pastime in the whole world. Good thing that both Vietnam and Thailand nowadays have superb coffee almost anywhere you care to look for it.
In Bali, one of the biggest nightspots has invested millions of dollars into their sound system. I went to hear the DJ. The sound was phenomenal, like the best HI-FI system I ever heard, yet it was a nightclub. This is one of the loudspeakers.
Still on Bali, the sunsets stretch out across the sands and the water like this when the tide is low, making for an incredible sight with all the reflections.
With our back turned to the previous sunset shot, this is looking up to the Beach Berm bar, which had a DJ set every sunset, a very popular spot to sit and watch the spectacle whilst sipping cocktails and having a boogie to the cool tunes.
No Particular Theme
Just years of kicking around SouthEast Asia means I have a lot of photos to share, some are just snaps, some are composed and edited, intended for some artistic purpose furhter down the line! The best I can do is at least share them here :)
The theme is as per yesterday, going back through all the photo archives on file, and selecting the choicest cuts to bring you here today. Photos that don't fit into any other overall story. Unusual, interesting, or just plain beautiful.
These are the shots not found on your typical travel blog - except maybe the food and a sunset.
Plenty of time and effort goes into capturing these photos. Sometimes risking it all, people might not like me photographing their Sh8T, like I could be trying to scope it out or something. Most are understanding however, especially when it comes to cars, they get it that I'm just admiring the machinery! People certainly don't like to have a camera shoved in their face, that's something i never do. I'm even wary when taking street photography, if it is appropriate to ask permission. Often, a wave and smile whilst gesticulating to the camera is enough for them to strike a pose - especially in SE Asia. No people shots today - just a dog - but this gives me an idea for an upcoming post. Just people ... Follow to make sure you don't miss it!
What is that thing?
One of two of the items in this set should take a little time to process. A very unusual loudspeaker being one of them, and the graffiti another!
See Captions for more
Every photo has a written caption to tell you more about it. Do check them out for details, and possibly the odd joke where one sprung to mind whilst writing them. No promises here though, you'll just have to check them out! Also, if you like anything here, do be kind and leave us a comment!
Thanks for reading today's blog
It's a bit of a lull activity wise for me, not getting out so much as I'm stuck inside working on a personal project - survival! A good time for reflection, and expect I'll be pulling more 'slices of life' hand-picked from the vast archives soon. Thanks for all your upvotes follows comments and support in general :)
