For work we gety to see a lot of gorgeous places across the west of Ireland. Today we made it down to Killimer which sits at the bottom of county clare on the River Shannon.
While the village itself is little more than a house and a signpost it has one special industry that gives it importance in Ireland. The Ferry to Kerry, or maybe the ferry to Clare if you are coming from the other side. I wouldn't know if they call it the same but our way sounds better.
The house that we were working on today was situated on top of a hill overlooking the bay and the ferry itself which we watched cross the river multiple times as we worked away outside. You can make out two towers at the other side of the river which guide the ferry across and around to the Tarbert harbour and nearby Listowel which is a much bigger town and a good place to spend a few days if you ever get the chance.
We've been covered by heavy fog for most of the week making travel treacherous and today was no different to start with but luckily the fog lifted around lunchtime and left us with these lovely views all day. The owners are lucky to have it and hopefully a much warmer house too after all our upgrades today.
