Take me back to 2020 when I went to Iceland in August please!
There was a lot of hype about this hot dog stand when we done our Reykjavik research. People from all over the world claim that this is the best hot do in the world. Forbes even wrote an article look - click here!
So ofcourse, we had to go and try this famous hotdog - I was skeptical.
I went all out and ordered everything on it, this included:
- Fresh finely chopped white onions
- Crispy onions
- Three Sauces:
- Organic Ketchup
- Icelandic Mustard
- Remoulade, (pickled mayo)
The hot dog was the softest ever, the crunch of the onions adds great texture and the sauce combination…just wow....genius. I can say it was for sure the best hot dog I have ever had.
What was amazing about this is that it was only £2.50 - and that is cheap for Icelandic prices. (So I had to go get another one because I am a pig and greedy haha) 🐷
I will share some more photo's and experiences of Iceland - it has been one of my favourite holidays as that is where I proposed to my wife!

I feel like I haven't paid 2.50 for a hot-dog since childhood. Maybe they were 1 pound back then, not sure, but at that price, sign me up!
haha inflation has killed all low prices 😫 I remember a Freddo chocolate being 5p, now they are like 40p per chocolate.
Never been to Iceland, and of course never try their Hot Dog for sure.
Cannot judge if it is over rated by the pictures, but 2.5 pounds is super cheap for Icelandic as you said.
I think I am really like you, I would go get the second one when I know it only costing me 2.5 pounds, I don't care if it is over rated, it's on the to visit place and to eat list, I need to take as much as I can of course
I didn't believe it to be honest that it was the best hot dog...until I tried it. Something special about it.
Also the price was good 🤣

Haha I'm making myself really too 😅🤣 we we're very lucky to be about to get away. Stayed there for nearly two weeks and got a campervan and travelled the whole of Iceland clockwise! Best trip 🙌🏼
