Our journey begins at a wonderful crossroads at sea level. All the buildings in the historic center of Amsterdam live on the edge of the river Amster, as you can see in the photograph.
We stayed in a nice house by the dock area. For a completely renovated house, it was not expensive at all, approximately €50 per night.
It had a beautiful garden where we had breakfast every day watching nature.
I was delighted to see a large bookstore with titles in both Dutch and English in the house. I couldn't help but flip through some Egyptian architecture books while drinking my green tea!
Well, our first day we spent visiting the entire historic center, near the Regus train station, the dock where THOUSANDS of bicycles were stored. The area is called Melkmarktsbrug.
When I say that Amsterdam is the city of bicycles, it is because there are more bicycles than people! Every week they extract dozens of them from the Amstel river. It's not a joke, that's how they are.
If I had to choose my favorite photograph of the entire trip, it would be this one. Some buildings in Waterlandplein Street. Here unedited.
One of the walks we took was to the Schellingwouderbreekpark, one of the most beautiful and natural parks in all of Amsterdam. Look, I love ducks! And there were a lot of them.
I love urban art, but with style. We found this mural on Meeuwenlaan street. It looks like it was a painting for #risingstars!
And finally, after many hours strolling the streets, we couldn't help but have several beers. We visited several pubs, but our favorite was Café Orloff Amsterdam.
Hello again, #Liketu community!
After introducing you to my city, Seville and and its wonderful regionalist architecture It's time to show you the photographs I shot on one of my favorite trips to Europe. A few years ago I visited Amsterdam, one of the main cities in the Netherlands that is wonderful to live, work and visit as a tourist! If you like to read a good book next to a fireplace while it rains, Amsterdam is your favorite destination.
We spent several days in Amsterdam for work and we made the most of all the hours of little sun that there were (in Spain we are very used to a sunny climate and there we find it very cold and humid!).
Thank you very much for reading this blog post! What did you think of Amsterdam? Leave it to me in the comments!
All this photographs have been shot with my camera Sony a6300 and my SIGMA 35mm lens and they are my own.
