Hi @elmerlin
I only noticed yesterday that you could become a verified member on Liketu and unlock new monetization features, so I went through the process and when I woke up the next day and checked what had changed, I was surprised and pleased to see that you can set up subscription tiered paywalls, a little like how things run on Patreon.
I find this quite encouraging because I am a writer by trade, outside of hive, and I have often thought that fiction in particular can be very undervalued on hive. To the extent where I actually chose to stop putting my fiction on here. But with this feature, the potential is there to ask a bit more for high-quality work.
e.g. I once wrote a 4798-word short story on hive that took 6 hours to write, then as I studied creative writing at University, I spent another 4-5 hours editing, re-writing parts, tightening up sentence structure and correcting any plot holes. And then after what amounted to easily between 10-12 hours, a piece of fiction that I am proud of and think might have been accepted to a mainstream fiction journal makes $1.71 which actually means approx. $0.85 after curators take their 50%. Pretty much the equivalent of being paid $0.08/hour... 😂 which I can only describe as insane. No one would work for that, especially not someone like myself who lives in a country (the UK) with a very high cost of living. The story I'm talking about is linked below, it is a short story written in the magic realism genre, set in Japan.

p.s. that story is from years ago so I'm not trying to shill it for votes lol I just thought I'd drop it in case you like to read fiction.
I know Liketu is more of a photographic blogging type hive-based platform, and that is actually what I’ve been using it for and thoroughly enjoying improving my photography skills and keeping in practice with what I've learned over the years around photo editing using GIMP to clean up images and make digital collage art.
But the tier access system you've implemented on Liketu actually gives me hope that at some point in the future if the novel I’m working on gets picked up, I will at least be able to maybe start writing a few new short stories (to put on hive) using Liketu but setting a paywall so that my fiction isn’t so undervalued.
Anyway, keep up the great work and development of Liketu 👍
