Hi Everyone,

One of the highlights of this trip has to be the snow! I have chosen a relatively quiet snowfield steering well away from the popular Hakuba which is like the second Australia or Hokkaido as it is costly with the influx of tourists. The drive to this snow field from Osaka is around 2 hours or a little longer for us as we stopped halfway at a pit stop. I booked a ski-in & out hotel right at the foot of the chairlift so we don't need to drive anywhere for the mountains unless we decided to go to another ski field around the area.

First day we arrived and checked into the hotel, found a ski school for the kids, and rent our gear. We didn't end up renting our gear as it could be done the following day though we did book a ski school. Both kids know a bit of snowboarding but they want to try skiing so we decided to let them try. The only hurdle is they don't have any English-speaking instructors on a weekday. As we are looking for a private lesson, hubby decided to learn as well as he is a snowboarder and at the same time could be the kid's translator on the snow as he knows a little bit of Japanese. I guess let's see how we go. More to come soon!

Everybody seems to have white cars there or is that a coincidence? 😅

Oh I didn't even notice, and our car is white as well LOL

Now that is a good idea skiing near Osaka. I never thought of that.

Thats an option for sure if you have some time as it is out of the way
