Venezuelans go to the beach very often, but most of us aways dream to go on a vacation to Mérida.
On our way to "Páramo la Culata"
OAN - Observatorio Astronómico Nacional de Llano del Hato
Teletubbies? If I remember correctly, this is called "Loma Redonda" and it is a "round hill"
A few months ago I did a trip to Merida, Venezuela, and I wasn't able to post the photos because the responsibilities hit hard. Now I want to share a little bit of what this travel was like. I can't do it in just one post so here are some pictures of the landscape, mostly from the road. Mérida is a great place to just have someone driving and you just enjoy the view. Don't drive if you like to enjoy the view, because you could end up at the bottom of a ravine. The road is zigzagging like a snake, it goes around the mountains and flows with them.
The climate there is cold in comparison to the rest of the country, but it can get really hot and sunny too, that's why we got fog on part of the trip and sunshine on the other, both on the same day haha. I decided not to post much of the fog because you know, it's just white, and I wanted to show you a bit more.
In the third picture, you can see the National Astronomical Observatory. When we went there it was raining, the fog didn't allow us to see past our own hands. It doesn't look like it since in this photo there is still light and there is no fog at all on the observatory itself, but it was completely different a few minutes later. The temperature dropped to 4°C and it might be even warm for some of you that are from northern countries, but I live in a place where the temperature is always over 25, so 4°C is pretty cold. I grabbed a drink I bought before getting there and it was colder than in the fridge.
Merida is a place very different, it's so calm there, and people don't look like they are running out of time all the time. I'm a person that likes to do activities, not watch, at the beach, I never sit to watch it, I like to go swimming, but Merida makes me want to just walk and see, breathe fresh air, and relax, all wrapped in a comfy blanket.

Amo Merida!!! que hermosas fotos!!!
Gracias! Jaja, Mérida es otro mundo, y los propios sitios turísticos son hermosos pero tiene todavía más lugares espectaculares que ver. Es genial si uno va con un grupo que conozca esos lugares y lo guíen a uno
