Hello all liketu lovers. On this occasion I would like to share a tradition that exists in the place where I live or in my area. As one of the areas where the majority of the population is Muslim, Aceh is an area that has many traditions that are still preserved until now, namely the "Meugang Day Tradition to Welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan". This tradition can be called the tradition of slaughtering beef, so on this day everyone buys beef, many people sell beef because on that day many people buy meat to be cooked according to their respective tastes or preferences. So this tradition is carried out the day before entering the month of Ramadan.
The history of the emergence of this tradition.
This tradition has emerged since the entry of the Islamic religion into Aceh, namely since the 14th century AD. Ali Hasjimy said that this tradition had started since the time of the kingdom of Aceh Darussalam. This tradition is carried out by the kingdom in the palace one day by the sultans, ministers, royal officials and scholars.
Some say that the celebration of the meugang tradition was carried out by Sultan Iskandar Muda as a form of gratitude for the king to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, so the ox or buffalo were cut and the meat was distributed to the public.
