Lovely berries 😍. I also encountered "currants" in my childhood, yet now it feels like none. The best thing is that birds won't attack the vineyard? Sparrow is all over here, and that shurb of berries will surely be a feast for birds if I grew in our area.

I don't know if the birds would choose the berries. Maybe yes, I didn't see them attacking these shrubs. But there are many bugs in recent years that are having a feast with all other, mainly sweet fruits. It's not easy to get rid of them.
