Welcome everybody. My name is Art, also
known as Artakush on the Hive
blockchain. With me here is my
colleague Minigunner, who's also quite
often in response after the
handle Coldbeetrootsoup and CBRS
philanthropy. And today we're gonna give
you a little rundown about
CBRS and what we have done in
the last half a year. Now you're gonna
talk? Could you switch it a
little bit? So let's start with
the team. The team is pretty small but
it's effective. At this point
we have Tibfox, Minigunner,
myself, Bambukah, who we should all wish
him the best. He's
having trouble with his
with his with health. Yeah, so best
wishes to him. He couldn't come here but
he had a ticket and also
Mercadomaestro, who is a friend in the
US who's trying to stay
anonymous but he is doing a great
job about researching markets and
philosophizing. And he's a good poet
actually. He writes a lot of
poetry. So this is about the team. What
does CBRS does? What kind
of project we're involving
ourselves? So one of the projects is
SuperHive. I'm not sure if you heard and
that project is being
built by Bambukah. Some of you know him
and some of you have followed of his
work. It's an amazing
app that's being in development. We call
it Low-key: a WordPress killer.
More, we are very interested
in gaming as we had a gaming industry a
couple of years ago and we're slowly
trying to put ourselves
back on the track on the Hive blockchain
and off chain of course.
Onboarding. We try to onboard
people who have some talent, who have
some vision and has will to provide
content which is quality.
And last time you probably noticed that
we onboarded MAK DAO. We also onboarded
AriaVPN which actually is busy now to
allow people to buy VPN
with HBD. So that is very cool.
CBRS philanthropy. We'll talk about that
in a second. In the second year and of
course meetups. We had a couple of
meetups last year in the Netherlands and
we're actually today just
focused on next year summer
to make something really cool in the
Netherlands or maybe in Germany maybe in
Austria. We have no idea
but we want to do something really cool.
Yeah, Marius. Yeah, let me tell you a
little bit about these projects.
Because onboarding we are trying to
onboard not only people but we're trying
to onboard projects.
Projects that have that with the help of
Hive community can grow
together with all of us
and they can also help us onboard new
members to Hive. So for
example we have MAK DAO
and we have Mirella here who is working
really hard on finishing
the white paper. It should be
finished very soon. So what we are trying
to create is a dour for
the MAK DAO museum in Wien.
It's really huge because we think because
they want to enter the web3
world and it is a beautiful
bridge between web2 and web3. That means
that we can also onboard
people through a museum and show
them the possibilities web3 can give
especially also with NFTs. Also like
meetups. We didn't do
a meetup I think for a long time already
but we do meetups
occasionally on the Netherlands.
We focus on our community as well to try
and build a bigger community. And what
else? And onboarding
why it's important. I mean not it is
important but also the way
we do it is it is not that we
onboard and then one week later we let
you go. No, we onboard and
we stay there for a long time.
Months, two months, three months if
necessary. So they would
because a lot of people who come to
Hive they come and they go and we don't
want that. And of course it takes time
and dedication to really
explain them the possibilities and really
show what Hive is all about and how many
cool stuff Hive has.
So with the help of OCD thanks to Acidyo
we are able to do some
really amazing onboarding.
So yeah CBRS philanthropy that is why we
came here. It is truly a
project close to our hearts
and I'll give the microphone back to Art.
So CBRS philanthropy, building bridges
and breaking barriers. When
we were at the Blockchain Expo
we have listened to an amazing story of
Sam who's building
boreholes in Africa and we felt the
connection and felt that a simple person
can actually build
bridges with a good intention
and good power. And what we did we
focused ourselves on a
community that is pretty strong
and is thriving for a long time which is
Venezuelan and it's probably
understandable that that
community needs help. They're actually
suffering from a crazy
regime let's put it that way and
the livelihood is nothing compared to
what we have here in
Europe. So we started with one
classroom. We chose a school where a kids
from 13 to 17 are
studying. It's a perfect range to
start learning web3 and we got the green
light from director to
clean the classroom, to paint
the walls, to clean the windows, do the
double door lock and
actually we had enough funds to buy
two computers and camera and a beamer
because through the beamer
we have a very very special
person who said that he can invest his
own time to teach those
kids through internet.
So if we can go forward, yes you can tell
a little bit about social
impact. Yeah so social impacts
Hive is the centerpiece to help other
communities around the
world actually. We started in
Venezuela and for us really just it's
like a kick-starting
process. It's a first baby,
yeah indeed. But Hive has everything that
we need to help
communities across the world or
people in need. So you can build your own
community. The
communities can onboard people
on Hive. There's a huge ecosystem on
Hive. They can all interact and use.
Education you can find a lot about web3
or blockchain,
cryptocurrency, games, whatever you
need. You can find everything on Hive.
All you have to do is
search and just join the right
communities and the rewards of course
that is a very important
factor for those countries.
It is because this saves their lives and
literally saves their
lives. So all of this is just,
yeah this is the most important part for
our project. So this is
the school that Art was
talking about within Aveledo in Caracas.
And so we are just
combining the school with Hive
together and this is what we do
basically. We connect projects together
and we build something
bigger together. So the main team is Team
CBRS of course and we have
in Venezuela, I think you know
already Nahupuku and Orimusic, they are
investing so much time and effort in
Venezuela. It is just
insane and they're really trying to help
and you can see that. Like
instead of going to work,
they're going to the school. They're
looking at the project. They're looking
if everything is going
well. They're talking to the teachers.
They are looking how to
get the internet. And it's,
believe me in Venezuela, it's just crazy
because you have one dollar,
the normal dollar and you have
the, they call it black market dollar
which they use to sell
stuff. So it's insane. Yeah, so
they're doing their best and they will
also be teaching kids
in the school about Hive.
But that will come later after this one.
So we will right away tell
you what we did so far in
this project. And it's a lot what we did.
So the first thing what
we did is we connected with
Monero. Yeah, it's we started on Hive but
suddenly we went to
Monero. It is because we
tried to get funding on web 2 and nothing
happened. Nobody really cared and you
need to know people.
You need to know different communities or
organizations.
Otherwise it will not work.
So that's when we started poking around
on web 3 and Flynn, he gave
us a link to a kickstarter.
Maestromercano. He
gave us a link to Uno.
A beautiful, beautiful place. It is just
a web 3 GoFundMe
kickstarter and all the Monarians are
there. And if you don't know, Monero is
one of the biggest supporters of all
these kind of projects
around the world. When there was like a
hurricane somewhere in
America, you had Bitcoin
and other chains. Monero were the highest
supporters. It's
amazing what these guys do.
Even though they're very private, they
really enter privacy
when it comes to helping.
It's amazing. So we started on Uno and
then after I think a couple of days we
got our first funding.
We were 2% I think and we're like okay
well something is
happening. Really cool. And then
one of the members of the community said
hey guys why don't you go to
Moneratopia? If you guys know
MoneroTalk or Moneratopia, it's a show
for all the Monarians and they talk
what's happening in the
community and we were there. So we went
there, we talked to this guy
and the rest of the community,
we talked about the project, they loved
it and after that it just went bananas.
They went bananas. And to thank the
community for all their
hard work, all their support,
we made a very cool illustration of
Monerochan. Monerochan is the mascot of
Monero and they really
loved it because this is actually
Monerochan being the teacher and teaching
about web3 and privacy
and security and everything about money
and bitcoin and stuff like that.
So yeah.
A little side note that
this art was made by a Venezuelean
And this mural will be
placed on one of the walls
in the class room.
So then Marius asked me hey they're
asking us to come back
because actually after
Minigunner went to the talk we reached
over 52% of complete funding where I
wanted to say that we
really expected a little bit more from
Hive which they do help
through Upvote and Post and
different ways and actually sending the
HBD straight to the CBRS philanthropy.
But I couldn't let this opportunity go
and I went there and by the time this
Moneratopia was going
we were missing only 2% to the full
funding. After we
finished this talk we had 102%
of the funding so we had everything
already settled. After
that we went to work. So what
happened next? 102% by 61 supporters over
eight Monero gained and
that's almost thousand something
So we got really lucky and it
surprised us. In literally six weeks we
got all complete funding
and actually a little bit more.
Because actually it is for us why we came
here. We wanted to see
if we can get funding
and help from the Hive community but we
just got full funded.
So the thing that the Hive funding and
Monero funding all
combined gave us a free like a
breathing room for those crazy exchanges
in Venezuela and also
extra things that we could
buy for the room. By the way like
something very
important we wanted to thank
OCD because these guys I mean they
curated our posts so and the
curation was so good that we
went in the top three let's say in
trending and it's not about
like being trending it's about
people see our project and that was so
important for us and every
time we posted we always go into
trending so people really start
commenting and saying wow this project is
cool and it's always
nice to get these kind of comments. We
also want to thank Ecency because man
Melinda just sent us I
think 50 000 Ecency points and there you go
once you start onboarding
use that. Blown away of course.
We got StickupBoys also who are helping
us with curation. HiQ is
helping us a lot so thank you guys!
Yeah so all the talk is talked but we can
show you what we have done.
So you can see how first the room looked.
It was all trash. The doors
wouldn't lock. They wouldn't
close even. They had to re-sold
everything. Yeah I can put the next one
please. The windows everything
was dark so they cleaned the windows.
They also repainted the tiles with
several layers of white.
We also fixed the door. We put the double
lock on it because as
we know Venezuela is
Venezuela and we're bringing tech to
there. We're bringing computers so we
really want to be secure
that our stuff is not stolen or broken.
All the chairs and all the tables were
taken away but we're
gonna have some new fresh tables there as
soon as we finished and a
little bit more a couple of
pictures of what we did. We fixed the
lamps of course. There's
new there's light now so we're
very happy. The soldering of the doors.
Because we put extra
hinges for security reasons.
It's like full metal doors. Nobody can go
through them. We bought two computers.
Yeah it's very hard when you're dealing
with money and you're
dealing with people in a different
country, different land, then you need to
have the trust and I think
one of the the most expensive
currency is trust. So every time we send
something we wrote everything
down and in all of our posts
you can see a detailed receipts from the
shops. Everything written
where all the money went
and some of the money actually went to
these two computers and
they're being set up while we're
speaking actually. So this is just an
example of one of the
receipts. So we want to be as
transparent as possible so the whole
community sees what we do
with the money with the funding
that we get. It's not like on web 2 you
send it and you have no idea
what's gonna happen. I mean
we've all seen projects getting funded
and like there's nothing
happening. There's no updates
about it and we're not from that cloth.
We really wanted to
pick it up and do it right.
So you have absolutely all the
information about what we've received and
what we have bought.
Then another part of our project is hive
art competition in the
school. Of course kids have
no idea what hive is but we made some
really cool posters.
They're done by Hivians.
Yeah well the kids but these posters are
done by Hivians. Artists on hive.
We just gave them information that we
want to have in these
posters so the kids can
get prizes for the best art and they can
go to the teacher to
ask for more information.
So you know it's very interesting because
in the school they never
have these kind of posters.
It's just white and then written in hand.
So this was quite
cool. And then we have here
information. It's in Spanish but I'll
tell a little bit in English.
To show what hive is we made a little
story and it's about like it has to do
something with Lego.
So it would be as easy as possible to
think like okay what could it be? So the
story is also posted
on one of our posts. If you go to CBRS
philanthropy I think
it's on the art post.
Yeah there's a post about the art
competition. You can read it there.
And these are all the aspects but these
aspects or hive aspects are
all in a very artistic way.
So they can... I cannot read Spanish.
Because I didn't have in English the
thing. So it's also in
the art competition post.
So if you are interested to
find out what we wrote there.
Go to CBRS.
Yeah so you can see already people are
like this is crazy. Like if
we wanted to have this in color
we would have to pay three dollars. Three
dollars for one page. This
is insane. And we wanted to
print a hundred to give out to kids. Then
they say yeah it's three
dollars per page. No way.
So that's what we're dealing in Venezuela
and it's hard when it comes to money. But
kids are interested. They're checking it
out. We already have nine
kids that are already busy with
art. And what's gonna happen their art is
going to be shown at the
art museum next to the school.
So there will be a big event where
parents can come and find out also about
hive. So it's the same
time onboarding on hive. Explaining
teaching about hive. And
the museum will know about
hive. They know about hive actually
already. Of course Nahupuku
already on boarded them. Yay!
And then we are going to create NFTs out
of their art and put it on NFT showroom.
So yeah we're trying to connect as many
dots possible together.
And in the same way also
teach kids what they can do on hive. Yes
so what is next for CBRS
philanthropy? To set up the
computers. To buy a beamer. Buy a router.
Order internet. Which is
another crazy story that we're
dealing with. But we're gonna deal with
that. We already have a
thick skin and I think
we cannot back out now. We're gonna have
a hive art classroom. We're
gonna have hive art to NFT.
Which you just mentioned. And we're gonna
have the Monero art
classroom. So there will be two murals
that comes from the white walls. One is
for the Monero and the
other one is for Hive. We're now
working for desire for a Hive mural.
You're gonna see probably an upcoming
updates from CBRS philanthropy.
And of course start classes.
So Nahupuku and olimusic they
already told us that they are
going to go to the classroom
and they're gonna teach kids how to use
hive. What it is you know
like start very slow. We have
already in Spanish like the Spanish
community they have already
a lot of information on hive
that you can just give. Let them read.
Let them you know understand
at least a little bit. So in
the classroom Nahupuku can really tell
the story and be there with
the kids next to the computer.
Teach them how to use Hive. And then a
little bit by a little bit
we're gonna be onboarding
the whole school hopefully. Well at least
the teachers they're in.
They really want to get on
Hive. Create their own school. Community.
Get the kids who are 13 to
17. So the ages are pretty
pretty cool. And they're gonna also be
getting on the onboard to the
school's community. And yeah
then they will just have to find their
way. Of course we're gonna
guide them as much as possible.
They will also guide them but that's
another community on a
hive and it's really cool. So
imagine if this school is onboarded. We
can go hop on another
school. Hop on another school and
more and more and more. And then a very
important one. Esquilita
Bitcoin. I don't know if you ever
seen him on Twitter but he is already
teaching kids in Uruguay.
I think Uruguay is teaching
kids about Bitcoin but it's not only
about Bitcoin. He's letting them
understand what is money.
What is money? What is Bitcoin? It's not
just cryptocurrency. You
know there's there's so
much around it. So he is we're gonna use
a Beamer. You will see him. He will see
the kids and he will
be really teaching the kids online. And
hopefully in the future and
maybe some of you want to.
We want to get more teachers. Teach them
maybe a little bit of
different aspects of hive. Like
maybe go into more detailed stuff about
Hive. They will be
teaching a little bit like general
stuff about Hive but maybe somebody will
be teaching coding. I don't know maybe
somebody wants to teach
about NFT showroom. That would be cool.
So every time there's another teacher.
Well if you guys want to help we have
really we are fully funded
already but we want to go to all
other projects. So we want to start maybe
in Cuba. We want to start in
Lithuania. We want to start in
another country or another school in
Venezuela. So if you guys want to follow
us on Hive on Twitter
or delegate HP to CBRS philanthropy
because yeah each help every
help counts. And this with our
with delegation we can help the school to
grow as well. Yeah about
growing. I just wanted to say
that the main goal for us with this
project in Venezuela is to provide
possibilities to the kids
for upcoming six months. We're going to
give them the internet. We're going to
provide them with the
computers. We're going to provide them
with classes. And then this in these six
months we really want
to try to make them self-sustainable and
autonomous so we can focus on something
else. We can build a
little communal account that could be the
help for that hive hub or for that
classroom hub you know.
So yeah that's very important. Also the
the once they have their
community set and there is like
let's say they generate enough hive power
and rewards to pay for
the internet and they have
leftovers or how you call it they have
more. This is a nice way to
start a small funding for a next
project let's say in Venezuela a new
school. And if you have second school
third four fifth if you
have 10 schools working together yeah
they have their own
communities but they also one big
community and with 10 schools you can
start you can fund
already fully another school.
And if this continues this is just a
chain reaction just goes on
and goes on. As I always say to
marius no small steps breaks a big rock.
So I'm very happy I'm very
proud of marius who's also
working very hard on the on the post that
we're delivering almost
every week. And we're very
thankful that we have this opportunity
since 2007 to be a part of hive and and
we see what we can do
if we want to right tibfox. You did it
all on yourself. Look how
many people came to to to to
to the event itself you know. So yeah a
big thanks to all of
you that are giving the
possibility for us to be together and
make something great. Thank you.
