Day After - Injury Check | Road to NN Marathon Rotterdam | Cent Power up day

Hi all, welcome back to my #running blog!

Injury check run
I learned to always do an injury check run the day after a marathon. The idea is that muscle soreness after a larger event kicks in gradually, getting worse from day 2 (after), so if you do a injury check a few days after the run it is hard to separate pain from muscle soreness from injury.

My strategy here is just to listen to your body while setting a pace. After Amsterdam last October my injury check run was a recovery pace. Today I felt strong and could do a little faster.

I felt great, first km I started slow feeling some soreness in the inner side of my right upper leg but that disappeared very fast. So I tested what happens if I would increase my pace a little and that still felt fine.

After getting wet feet yesterday I feared getting blisters, but that was also not the case. Only small issue I can find is that the top of my toes hurt a little due to the running down of sand dunes - but nothing significant. I will continue this week with my trainingblock for NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025

NN Marathon Rotterdam
Last year the marathon in my hometown was a lot of fun, this year I aim to improve my PR and break 3:22:00

Counting 61 days until the event I am happy to see I finished the coastmarathon without any significant injuries and am looking optimistic towards the goal!
