Récord 5 km [Esp-Eng]

Buenos días a todos. El día domingo logré correr 16 km y romper mis récords personales en 5, 10 y 15 kilómetros, además del que había conseguido en 10 millas. Pero hoy logré mejorar aún más el de 5 km. Les cuento cómo me fue.

Una vez más el clima fue mi aliado, sobre todo porque comencé a correr temprano, evitando que el sol me desgastara demasiado. Inicie a un ritmo de 4:45 aproximadamente, y logré mantener ese promedio hasta completar los 5 km. Ese ritmo era algo impensado para mí hace unos meses, sobre todo porque mi mejor registro hasta hace poco era cercano a los 6 minutos.


Hice un cambio en mi rutina, y considero que esa ha sido la clave para seguir mejorando mis récords. Se trata de la alimentación, añadiendo más proteínas a mi consumo diario. A partir de ese cambio me he sentido con mucha más energía.

Por cierto, en el kilómetro 6 tuve que disminuir considerablemente la velocidad porque sentía que me ahogaba. Luego de ese km pude reponerme y recuperar el ritmo hasta completar 8 kilómetros. El ritmo de toda la carrera fue de 5:14, uno muy bueno para mí. La próxima meta es mantener el ritmo por debajo de 5 minutos durante 10 km.

Good morning everyone. On Sunday I managed to run 16 km and break my personal records in 5, 10 and 15 km, in addition to the one I had achieved in 10 miles. But today I managed to improve even more the 5 km. I'll tell you how it went.

Once again the weather was my ally, especially because I started running early, avoiding the sun to wear me out too much. I started at a pace of 4:45 approximately, and managed to maintain that average until completing the 5 km. That pace was unthinkable for me a few months ago, especially because my best time until recently was close to 6 minutes.


I made a change in my routine, and I believe that has been the key to continue improving my records. It's all about nutrition, adding more protein to my daily intake. Since that change I have felt much more energetic.

At kilometer 6 I had to slow down considerably because I felt like I was drowning. After that kilometer I was able to recover and get back in the rhythm until I completed 8 kilometers. The pace for the whole race was 5:14, a very good one for me. The next goal is to keep the pace under 5 minutes for 10 km.
