Nikola Tesla is Serbia's biggest airport—and quite a nice one. Belgrade seems like a great city to live in, but unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to visit it properly. Still, I drove to Belgrade yesterday to pick up a friend from the airport.
Why didn’t he choose a Romanian airport? Well, because finding good flights from Sweden to Romania is nearly impossible. So, many people from around here who live in Sweden either fly to Budapest or Belgrade when coming home. And someone has to pick them up from there…
It was quite a demanding task, though, because Serbia is in pretty much the same situation as Romania when it comes to road infrastructure. They have some highways, but not enough. So, I ended up driving for about four hours on a 270-kilometer journey.
I was supposed to arrive a bit early since I left home ahead of time. I don’t like driving at night that much, so I left at 8 PM and got there at midnight (actually 11 PM their time).
When I arrived, I tried calling my friend—he answered, which was not a good sign… The flight was delayed, and I had to wait at the airport for about two and a half hours. I tried sleeping in the back seat, but that didn’t work…
I also had to change parking spots twice. Every time I started dozing off, a group of people would stop near my car and start chatting loudly. Anyway…
I got home at 7 AM, completely exhausted. I managed to sleep a few hours during the day, but now I have to wake up at 4 AM for another 600-kilometer drive with my friend. This time, we’ll be driving on Romanian roads—mostly on the highway.
It’s nice to break the routine once in a while. At the same time, this experience made me realize I have poor headlights. I’ll need to change the bulbs and mount LEDs.
That’s about it from my side. Hope you all have a great Sunday—catch you in the next one!
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
