Decidí instalar una app productiva, que pudiera aprovechar en tiempos libres. Lo primero que se me vino a la mente fue Duolingo para aprender idiomas. Una vez instalado, me di cuenta que no sería muy emocionante escoger el inglés, ya que poseo cierto dominio del idioma. No quería practicar de cero un idioma que ya mas o menos conozco de toda la vida. Entre los demás idiomas disponibles, estaba el sueco y no dudé en escoger este idioma por diversas razones.
I decided to install a productive app, which I could use in my free time. The first thing that came to my mind was Duolingo to learn languages. Once installed, I realized that it would not be very exciting to choose English, since I have some experience on that language. I didn't want to practice from the start a language that I had known more or less all my life. Among the other languages available, there was Swedish and I didn't hesitate to choose this language for various reasons.
He visto diversas series de televisión nórdicas y me han parecido excelentes. Otra razón, es que los idiomas Sueco, Noruego y Danés son idiomas bastante parecidos y aprender uno de ellos te da la posibilidad de poder comunicarte con personas de una buena área geográfica de Europa (ver un mapa).

Duolingo al principio te coloca ciertos desafíos donde debes construir tu mismo las oraciones a partir de palabras que debes escoger. Te brinda ayuda mostrando una traducción de cada nueva palabra para que puedas familiarizarte con ellas. De esta manera vas aprendiendo intuitivamente como construir oraciones básicas.
Duolingo at the beginning places certain challenges where you must build the sentences yourself from words that you must choose. It helps you by showing you a translation of each new word so that you can get familiar with them. In this way you learn intuitively how to build basic sentences.
Siempre me ha parecido que al aprender un idioma, el estudio de las reglas gramaticales debería evitarse en los niveles iniciales, ya que representan más un obstáculo que una guía. Hasta ahora he avanzado al segundo nivel y siento que he progresado significativamente en cuanto a cuestiones básicas.

Hasta ahora me ha parecido una app útil. Los anuncios no son tan molestos como en otras aplicaciones, e incluso te brindan un incentivo al mirarlos ya que ganas gemas (puntuación) haciéndolo. A veces, el desafío consiste en escribir tu mismo la respuesta, y te la valida aún si cometes un pequeño error, lo cual te permite no perder vidas de manera decepcionante. En apps de idiomas que había probado anteriormente, tenías que escribir la respuesta perfecta y sin errores.
So far I have found it to be a useful app. The ads are not as annoying as in other apps, and even give you an incentive to watch them since you earn gems (score) by doing so. Sometimes, the challenge is to write the answer yourself, and it validates it even if you make a small mistake, which allows you not to lose lives in a disappointing way. In language apps I had tried before, you had to write the perfect answer and without mistakes.

Qué bueno que estés con Duolingo! Yo hice el curso completo de portugués y me encantó, aprendí mucho. Éxitos con el Sueco!

Yo probé Duolingo y me pareció una excelente app, no solo la usé yo, sino que incentivé a mis padres para que ellos también la usaran y en sus tiempos libres tuvieran algo que hacer.
Duolingo es una app que yo también recomiendo a cualquiera que desee aprender un nuevo idioma.
Está buena la app, no sé si para aprender por completo un idioma sea suficiente pero hasta ahora me ha parecido bien. Saludos!
Hola @acont me parece excelente invertir el tiempo en algo útil, cuantas horas no perdemos en facebook, instagram, juegos y a mi parecer Duolingo es una buena aplicación para aprender idiomas.

Si, en definitiva se pierde mucho tiempo allí en nada productivo. Duolingo permite aprender algo en tiempos libres. Eso, y algunos libros buenos en PDF para cada vez que se va la luz.. Saludos!
