So there's always a primary time for everything which is true that's why I'm writing about my first time on a beach. For a couple of years, it's been on my bucket list to go to a beach during my stay here in Lagos which I've got ticked already in my list. After the successful deployment of only Marriott International Hotel in Lagos Nigeria, my company decided to require the staff out on a daily basis vacation so during this regard a panel was founded to determine it’s a successful and memorable one. After several back and forths, the team selected taking a beach trip.
So on the weekend that was selected for the trip, we were informed by the Human Resource Personnel to assemble at the office by 7:30 am that morning so as for us to induce to the venue early enough so we spend enough time and luxuriate in the outing. Well, some people didn't get the message early enough so a number of the staff turned up late that the movement was delayed about an hour.
OUTFIT FOR THE DAY
So this was an extremely confusing situation, I found myself the morning of the trip because I didn't know how to decorate for it after such a big amount of failed decisions, I made a decision with a pair of ripped jeans, a T-shirt and a pair of Air Jordan Nike Sneakers, well this wasn't a superb choice I made after progressing to the beach.
ROAD TRIP
We hit the road leaving about 10:00 am leaving one of the staff behind because he was irresponsible with time. Thou along the way we still had to wait for him cause we couldn't leave any soldiers behind as the managing instructed over a call, finally he arrived where we were parked with a bike and boarded the bus. He was smart enough to apologise to the team immediately as he boarded the bus, so we continued the journey. The ride was about 4 hours because the location was far from the metropolis. It was an interesting one we had music playing at some point the battery of the JBL speaker died then we resulted in a sing-along, we started getting hungry cause we didn't foresee that the trip to the location will be this long. In this light we stopped to get some plantain chips and drinks after all of that was sorted we continued the journey. One of the good things about road trips was the fact you have to see new places and new faces.

We finally arrived at the location a few minutes to 2 pm, some slept along the journey so when we arrived they didn't notice. I highlighted from the bus with a muscle pull due to my sitting position I took in the bus, we were welcomed to the establishment by its stewards which were nice they dressed in African attire. The human resources person made our presence known at the reception so we were granted entrance into the facility, we were told that there are two ways you gain access into the establishment either by foot or on a boat. So we all took the boat into the facility and the captain made a scene by his acrobatics on the water with his speed boat.
Along the path of boarding the boat finger food was provided for us which everybody enjoyed, this was my first time boarding a boat and also travelling on water. To be honest I was scared as hell the ride was a smooth one.
There were so many activities laid down for us like beach soccer, table tennis, water kayak, horse ride etc.
On the beach, we took a tent where our stuff was kept. Some had to change into something convenient for them to go into the beach water while I stayed on the sideline because I didn’t make an excellent choice in choosing my outfit and I came with no backup. In that light, I had to participate in activities that doesn’t require me to change my clothes or be dirty. I took a horseback ride along the beach sand and played table tennis it was really an adventurous moment for me, one I can’t forget in a hurry.
