Bueno les comparto mi historia trabaje en una productora de galletas hace ya 25 Años ( Puig ) me tocaba levantar sacos de harina y Azúcar y hacer movimientos muy pesados la espalda me molestaba al principio pensé solo que eran discos de la columna pero sin embargo no le prestaba atención luego comencé a preocuparme me tomé una placa y hay se reveló parte que mi espalda estaba desviada, pensé que me reubicarán de funciones pero no fue así sufrí lloré implore pero mis supervisores me dijeron, que renunciara, no me sirve que me estén pidiendo permisos para citas medicas cada 15 días. Por necesidad continué de manera de poder culminar mi carrera universitaria; pues no aguante y renuncie, aun así trabaje en otras empresas como administrador de base de datos y como periodistas. Hoy en día las cosas han cambiado y es algo desalentador y estresante, en anteriores ocasiones los exámenes médicos de las empresas anteriores nunca me dijeron nada de mi espalda ahora que tengo la posibilidad de entrar a otra empresa y me salieron con qué tenia escoliosis y no me aceptaron.
Well I share my story I worked in a cookie producer 25 years ago (Puig) I had to lift sacks of flour and sugar and make very heavy movements my back bothered me at first I thought it was just spinal discs but however I did not pay attention then I began to worry I took a plate and there it was revealed that my back was deviated, I thought I would relocate functions but not so I suffered I cried I begged but my supervisors told me to resign, it does not serve me that I am asking for permission for medical appointments every 15 days. Out of necessity I continued in order to be able to finish my university career; I could not stand it and resigned, even so I worked in other companies as a database administrator and as a journalist. Today things have changed and it is something discouraging and stressful, in previous occasions the medical examinations of the previous companies never told me anything about my back now that I have the possibility of entering another company and they told me that I had scoliosis and they did not accept me.
Debemos concienciar sobre nuestra situación a la gente que decide si entramos o no al mundo laboral y a la sociedad en general, para que sepan que quienes padecemos esta enfermedad no tenemos ningún impedimento mental ni motriz para ejercer nuestros trabajos. Es importante que sepan que No somos discapacitados, nuestra situación es compleja porque a la vez nos consideran erróneamente incapaces de trabajar al ver nuestras columnas, a través de radiografías, cuando en realidad nuestras limitaciones son mínimas y nuestras capacidades las mismas que cualquier otra persona que no sufre esta enfermedad o que tiene un grado muy pequeño de ésta.
We must raise awareness about our situation to the people who decide whether or not we enter the labor market and to society in general, so that they know that those of us who suffer from this disease do not have any mental or motor impediment to perform our jobs. It is important that they know that we are not disabled, our situation is complex because at the same time we are wrongly considered incapable of working when we see our spines, through x-rays, when in fact our limitations are minimal and our capabilities are the same as any other person who does not suffer from this disease or who has a very small degree of it.

Simplemente tenemos el impedimento de levantar peso, realizar movimientos violentos (en la mayoría de los empleos estas cosas no son requisitos) y necesitamos realizar nuestro trabajo de a ratos sentados y de a ratos parados o en movimiento, lo cual es posible en casi todos los empleos en donde ninguna persona permanece estática durante todo el desempeño del mismo.
Gracias por tomar parte de tu tiempo Hive y permitirme compartir esta experiencia con la certeza de que en esas pequeñas limitaciones encontraremos la fuerza para hacer muchas otras cosas, como la de todo ser humano.
We simply have the impediment of heavy lifting, violent movements (in most jobs these things are not required) and we need to do our work from time to time sitting and from time to time standing or moving, which is possible in almost all jobs where no person remains static during the entire performance of the job.
