Racism is a cruel and inhuman attitude that has been maintained since the most remote centuries, arriving unabated to the present. It manifests itself in a hidden and hypocritical way or in an open and insolent way. In certain epochs, the racists showed their faces with unabashedness claiming preferential treatment for a supposed exclusivity, based on advantageousness and a gross economic power, with pretensions of "ethnic superiority", "purity of blood" and "supremacy of a family lineage".

This was done in the past by kings, princes, dukes, dukes, marquises, counts, viscounts, viscounts and barons, in a gradation of privileges based on discriminatory laws that included an abusive inheritance law of false and arbitrary premises. They argued a supposed ethnic superiority; and they still persist in the same by promoting a "culture of domination" that they have developed and that has as a complement a "culture of submission" that the subjugated must docilely assume.
This is what the white Bolivian landowners are currently doing against the indigenous people, workers and peasants of their own nation. The same happens in Chile at the hands of the government, - always formed by bourgeois whites -, against the Mapuche and other indigenous ethnic groups; and against the peasants, students and workers.
The same happens in Colombia and in many other countries of the continent and the world. That is over now; the racists have no way of renewing those schemes in the face of the advance of the "culture of liberation" sponsored from this South American continent by the Caracas-born Simón Bolívar, the champion of freedom.
It is common to see the racists of the world, in Chile, Colombia or any other country, wielding the weapons of the State to serve the petty interests of the powerful. They provoke the death of simple people in a futile attempt to silence the national conscience among their own fellow citizens. A man is fragile before a bullet or the blade of a knife; ideas are not!
The Chilean government claims to be democratic and even dares to usurp the label "socialist". No one is fooled by its agents. We all see their true character. They take the good of their ability to organize, and leave them there, mired in their own Pinochetian rottenness; an enduring stigma.
Colombia's oligarchic government is always at it again, with different disguises, rehearsing untenable postures: cultured and ferocious, innocent but criminal. The United States - the eponymous of all absurdities -, is the main sponsor of the racist troupe: advantage-takers, exclusivists, war-mongers. A single adjective summarizes their system of anti-values: imperialists, that already defines them as those who pretend to be dominators.
Why are we talking about this now? Because from 1968 to the present, the onslaught of the world's racists has intensified in an attempt to consolidate their positions. The assassination of Martin Luther King in Memphis, Tennessee, in April 1968; and the "Tlatelolco Massacre" in Mexico in October of the same year, are the emblematic events of the onslaught of racism. From that same moment on, the popular response of conscience was also manifested.
At the Olympics in Mexico in October 1968, the black athletes of the U.S. team, with great courage, surprised humanity. At the moment of receiving the medal, the athletes took off their shoes, rolled up the sleeves of their shirts or one leg of their pants, and irreverently went up to the podium so that the white bureaucrat of the International Olympic Committee could place the ribbon with the medal around their necks. Then they would raise a raised fist, the newly established symbol of the popular "Black Power" movement. The "Black Power" movement had been founded shortly before by the Trinidadian-born social fighter Stokely Carmichael, when he was studying in the United States, where he became a naturalized citizen. Carmichael was for a time the husband of the African singer and dancer Miriam Makeba, of the famous song "Pata Pata". Both were great fighters against racism. She was a personal friend of fellow countryman Nelson Mandela and Chilean President Salvador Allende. Miriam Makeba was an active advocate for human rights and racial equality until the very moment of her death. She died on November 10, 2008, victim of a cardiac arrest suffered on stage during a concert against racism in Castel Voltumo, Italy.
Stokely Carmichael took the term "Black Power", shortly after the assassination of the great leader Malcolm X (February 1965), author of that vindicating slogan, to assign it to his social movement for the civil rights of people of African descent. The slogan "Black is beautiful" was then the protest slogan of black women in North America. Six months before the World Olympics in Mexico City68 , religious leader Martin Luther King had been assassinated in a conspiracy by white racists in the financial and political spheres to prevent his imminent presidential candidacy.
King would probably have been the first president of African ethnicity in the White House. He never even became a candidate, nor a candidate for candidacy; he was simply a prophet. This Obama of today is only African in appearance; he is a fascist, just like all the other plutocrats of the gringo ruling class. He might as well have blue eyes, be named Otto Reich or be born in Czechoslovakia; Obama is a fascist.
It was never made clear in those pre-Olympic days of 1968 whether he was trying to prevent the Olympiad (the intelligence services knew that there would be intense popular demonstrations) or warning what would happen to anyone demonstrating against racism, but the fascist government of Mexico, led by Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, a former CIA agent, mounted a criminal ambush against the people. October 2, Gandhi's birthday, had been promulgated by Mexican popular groups as Peace Day. There were student and workers' marches and demonstrations throughout the Mexican capital and in some major cities.
The active CIA agent Luis Echeverría Álvarez, then Secretary of the Interior under Díaz Ordaz, was in charge of the criminal and genocidal task. In an atrocious event known today as "The Tlatelolco Massacre", the military force and a few snipers murdered the people at gunpoint, producing a death toll that may never be fully accounted for. The empire then rewarded Echeverría with the rigged presidency of Mexico for the following term.
The Mexico Olympiad68 took place, as planned, starting on October 12. An emblematic date for the racists of the world in their imperialist expansion efforts. The hypocrisy of the white racist power groups was slapped daily by the silent rebellion of the American black athletes. The premonitory symbol was a black parrot that as a sign of "mourning for Tlatelolco" someone flew over the stadium during the opening ceremony of the Olympiad. There the Black Power that reaffirmed itself in the stadiums and on the runways, and expanded on the winners' podium, already appeared.
The main leader of the Black Power movement, Stokely Carmichael, said at the time: // Since we were born, black people have heard a collection of lies about us. We are told we are indolent; yet drive through the Mississippi Delta area and see Negroes picking cotton in the hot sun for fourteen hours. We are told, "If you work hard you will succeed." If that were the case we blacks would own the country. We are oppressed because we are black, not because we are ignorant, not because we are indolent, not because we are stupid (and have a good sense of rhythm), but because we are black //. More than fifty times he was put in prison for expressing these ideas, in the United States of America, the supposed world capital of democracy!
Nothing has been achieved by the racists since then; and now they are naked before the eyes of the world. They are desperate, appealing to outburst and violence; or to simulation and carping. They tolerate neither confrontation nor equality. They attack everyone else, calling them fascists, racists, terrorists, drug traffickers, and whatever epithet is applicable to them precisely because of their absurd and criminal behavior. The world is changing forever; not because of bombs but because of conscience!
