Working on Growing That Web Presence… While Also Promoting Hive!

in GEMS3 years ago

Today was pretty much another ”busy work” day, with most of my energy going into photography for eBay and Etsy listings, resizing and editing aforesaid photographs, and even getting a few sales listings done.

Photo editing takes a lot of time, and I guess I'm a bit ”old school” in the sense that even in today's world of high speed Internet I can still be ”bothered” to resize images so they are not huge, and then color correct them so they more or less fit the majority of the screens out there and look pretty true to life.

I realize many people probably think that I'm nuts for doing so, but I guess it's just part of my personal values of ”doing things properly.”

Other Ways to Market Hive

I also continued the process of updating our website for a new year, and suddenly remembered that one of the things that we did several months back was dedicate a blog post (on our off-Hive blog) purely to talking about our ”other” blog on Hive.

It's one of those things that made a lot of sense to me because we can talk about promoting Hive till we're blue in the face, but promoting Hive ON Hive makes a lot less sense to me than promoting Hive through the channels we originally used to build our businesses or blogs.

Most of our blog posts seem to end up with something on the order of 300 to 400 views within a few months, so that seems like a worthwhile endeavour. After all, that represents exposure through a set of eyeballs that don't necessarily know anything about our community here.

Anyway, if you feel so inclined here's a link to the blog post in question on our off-Hive blog!

Just sharing it here as an example of one possible way to promote Hive in a subtle and ”in-context” way, while being off Hive.

And that's really about all for this update. Sorry it's a bit short and not very creative today, but the first three weeks of a new year tend to mostly revolve around paperwork and busywork, rather than creative work.

Thanks for stopping by! Do leave a comment if you feel so inspired, engagement is always nice!

Because I am trying to make some semblance of income — a part time living, even — I now add this footer to all my posts, in the hope that someone, somewhere, might decide to take a further look at my work, and perhaps consider supporting independent art.

Thank you, in advance, for your consideration and support!

Hive Power Up Month - Feedback from day 15

Congratulations! You have been elected as the President of the Hive Rocks Community by it's members for your exceptional efforts in promoting Hive Rocks. You are being awarded with the Hive Rocks Badge.

Hive Rocks is a community of rock painters on the Hive Blockchain for painting and planting rocks. It fosters mindfulness in collectors, encouraging the use of at least 50% beneficiary rewards to artists. Through painting and planting rocks, we engage collectors in a treasure hunt and promote the Hive Blockchain by labelling rocks with links to users and the community. This distinguishes Hive Rocks from other rocks.
