Plants to brighten up the home

Desde diciembre que estuvimos comprando los ingredientes de la cena navideña, nos conseguimos con un lugar muy interesante, era una señora que vendía plantas y eso se ve muy poco aquí en donde vivo, nos pareció super bonito todo lo que vendía, nosotros, siempre quisimos comprar un cactus y otras plantas, tenemos algunas que tienen muchos años con nosotros pero queríamos tener mas para decorar las ventanas de la casa, aunque no se mucho de plantas, la señora muy amablemente nos explico como mantener a cada una de ellas, casualmente las dos que tomamos en ese momento nos comento que no llevaban demasiada agua. Ya paso mas de un mes desde que las compramos y hoy se suma una nueva planta más, además de que ya hemos transferido las plantas de diciembre a nuevas macetas como nos recomendó la señora.

Since December that we were buying the ingredients for the Christmas dinner, we found a very interesting place, it was a lady who sold plants and that is rarely seen here where I live, we found everything she was selling very nice, we always wanted to buy a cactus and other plants, We have some that have many years with us but we wanted to have more to decorate the windows of the house, although I do not know much about plants, the lady very kindly explained to us how to maintain each one of them, casually the two that we took at that time told us that they did not take too much water.
It has been more than a month since we bought them and today we have one more new plant, besides we have already transferred the December plants to new pots as the lady recommended.

La señora vendía muchas plantas e incluso flores, nunca había visto estas flores en persona y me gustaron muchísimo, pero esas si estaban un poco mas costosas y no las pude comprar.

The lady sold many plants and even flowers, I had never seen these flowers in person and I liked them very much, but those were a little more expensive and I could not buy them.

La primera planta que compramos fue este lindo y pequeño cactus, nos comento que se tiene que regar cada dos semanas y que preferiblemente la coloquemos a la luz del sol, tambien nos recomendó que la cambiáramos de maceta después de un mes y eso hicimos, la pasamos a una maceta más grande que teníamos desocupada, la mantenemos en la ventana todo el día excepto por las veces que llueve donde la quito de allí, los cactus me parecen super lindos y siempre quisimos tener uno, por suerte ese día conseguimos a esa señora y pudimos cumplir ese sueño, tenia mucha variedad de cactus pero este me gusto mucho por ser redondo, he intentado cuidarlo muchísimo, aunque no se si este haciéndolo correctamente, el cactus se ve un poco mas grande actualmente, pero ha cambiado de color, tambien he notado que tiene mas espinas, en la parte superior su color cambio a un tono rojizo.

The first plant we bought was this cute little cactus, she told us that it has to be watered every two weeks and that we should preferably place it in the sunlight, she also recommended us to change the pot after a month and that's what we did, we moved it to a bigger pot that we had unoccupied, we keep it in the window all day except for the times it rains when I remove it from there, I think cactus are super cute and we always wanted to have one, luckily that day we got that lady and we could fulfill that dream, she had a lot of variety of cactus but I really liked this one for being round, I have tried to take care of it a lot, although I do not know if I am doing it correctly, the cactus looks a little bigger now, but it has changed its color, I have also noticed that it has more thorns, in the upper part its color changed to a reddish tone.

La Segunda planta es una llamada Sansevieria trifasciata es muy común verla dentro de casas o incluso en la calle, según nos explico la señora, esta planta debe regarse igualmente cada dos semanas, mantenerse en lugares donde no reciba demasiada luz, prácticamente una planta que podría servir mas dentro del hogar, la mantengo en la entrada de mi casa donde la coloque una repisa en la pared, según entendí esta planta tiene muchos beneficios para la salud ya que purifica el aire, la coloque en la entrada porque asi evito que mi gato la mate dentro de casa jajaja, he visto que esta planta crece muchísimo pero supongo que llevara bastante tiempo, hoy pude comprar una nueva maceta y use tierra que me trajo mi suegro de Mérida (un lugar muy bonito de Venezuela) y alli la plante.

Y hoy mi suegro nos trajo esta linda planta que no tenia ni idea de cual era, hice una búsqueda inversa en Google y según Google esta planta se llama Huernia macrocarpa en las fotos de internet se ve que florece con unas color rojo y según leí necesita luz del sol indirectamente entre 5 a 6 horas, si recibe demasiado sol puede secar sus hojas, es muy pequeña y debo intentar mantenerla lo mejor posible para que crezca rápidamente y cambiarla de maceta, creo que esta va a ser la mas difícil de mantener debido al tiempo que debe estar expuesta al sol, pero es tan linda.

And today my father in law brought us this nice plant that I had no idea what it was, I did a reverse Google search and according to Google this plant is called Huernia macrocarpa in the internet pictures you can see that it blooms with a red color and according to what I read it needs sunlight indirectly between 5 to 6 hours, if it gets too much sun it can dry its leaves, it is very small and I must try to keep it as best as possible to grow quickly and change pots, I think this is going to be the most difficult to maintain because of the time it must be exposed to the sun, but it is so cute.

Siempre me han gustado las plantas, siento que le dan un poco de alegría al hogar, aunque a veces se convierten en todo un reto y una nueva responsabilidad mas siento que vale la pena, la naturaleza es simplemente hermosa y perfecta.

I have always liked plants, I feel that they give a little joy to the home, although sometimes they become a challenge and a new responsibility but I feel it is worth it, nature is just beautiful and perfect.
