Hola hive!
Hi hive! Today I want to share with you a little about my perception of painting and his content, the truth is that I have never been passionate about painting but recently I have developed an interest on it since I have been forced because of study stuff to deepen on this topic, but that's when I thanked since I realized how nutritious and formative is the fact of knowing even roughly (as is my case) a little about painting, its important characters and its impact on art.
I would also like this to become a kind of '' section '' on my blog so that we can get to know and go deeper into this pictorial world together.
On this occasion I will talk a bit about who Eduard Munch was and about his painting, The Starry Night, a bit of analysis about the symbolic language of this work.
Eduard Munch was a Norwegian painter, born in 1888 and was a legacy practitioner of the techniques of German symbolism and expressionism.
His work was dedicated to expressing the feelings and thoughts that the anguish of human existence entails, such as love, hatred, death, loneliness, despair, among others. Fact for which his works are very contrasting with each other and make this author a transcendental character for the development of modern art.
He considered that in the same way that Da Vinci studied the anatomy of the body in painting he studied souls
His life was full of unfortunate events such as the death of his sister and his mother for tuberculosis when he was just a child, for that reason and some problems with his father, he grew up developing a difficult personality and conflictive which would drain or express in his paintings with different techniques, his work is classified as symbolist because in his work expressions (when we talk about people) or real landscapes are not reflected, but the feelings impregnated in the aura of the characters and landscapes.
The Starry Night
It was presented by Munch as a work that showed melancholy and showed the light within the shadows, debuted on 1863.
Painting is perceived as a materialization of feelings such as loneliness, sadness, melancholy.
The landscape is gloomy but within it you can perceive a mood of optimism, of not being at the best moment but with the hope of being better later (reflected in the light effects that occur despite using neutral or sad colors ), due to the technique used in the direction of the lines, a highly charged psychological state can be perceived as well as due to the density of the elements involved in the painting, the ocean horizon line being a lower horizontal line expresses stability so It can be sensed that despite having a sad character, it does not express frenzy and despair, but rather resignation and longing, as well as hope for what is to come, accepting the present state.
