The Bally park with its unique English style, its beautiful Aare landscape and the miniaturized pile dwellings are a unique example of the park in Europe. At that time, the workers from Shoe Factory Bally could find peace and recreation here.
In 1851 Carl Franz Bally founded the Bally shoe factory in Schönenwerd- Switzerland. The park was part of a typical industrial landscape of the 19th century, consisting of factories, factory owner's villa, workers' houses, storerooms and lounges.
In this building next to the park, at that time, there had on the top floor, room for 50 workers. On the second floor the workers were could eat and dine for 50 centimes. On the first floor, the workers' dining room was only for 25 centimes.
