Hello all Hivians and good people of the Gems community. History was made today in the world of cryptocurrency. Today will go down as a memorable day in the annals of history as the day Bitcoin $BTC peaked and soared above $100,000.00! That's crazy man. It's been anticipated for some weeks now that $BTC will reach this ATH but nobody expected this to happen today. It even traded at some point at $102,000.00. That's massive I must say and a good one for the crypto world.

Having said that let us also dive into the world of history to see what other notable events took place today.

We begin today from the world of Olympics [Doping in sports]. From Fiji, we move over to Nicaragua [Birthday of Anastasio Somoza Debayle]. Do you know that on this day in 1925, Anastasio Somoza Debayle, the Nicaraguan President from 1967–1979 was born in León, Nicaragua. Happy posthumous birthday to him.

Gentlemen, we'll round off our today's look in history from Thailand [Birthday of Bhumibol Adulyadej]. Do you know that on this day in 1927, Bhumibol Adulyadej, the longest serving monarch in Thailand spanning a period from 1950 – 2016 and also the ninth king of the Chakkri dynasty was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
