What do black & white photos tell us?

You might think these are just the combination of 2 colours but the truth is that great black and white photography is all about telling a story, highlighting a subject and expressing emotions, without the distraction of colours.

It is not about shooting subjects that lack colour to start with. I’m not a great photographer but I wonder some time while I change a picture to monochromatic. That pictures says exactly what I wish to. They are not just pictures they are emotions.

Black and white photography removes any distraction of colour and helps the viewer focus on other aspects of the photo, such as the subject, the textures, shapes and patterns, and the composition.

Colour photos can have a wide palette of shading, but the best black and white images often have a clear ‘black’ and ‘white’ to guide the viewer. While shades of grey can be interesting, too, they’re harder to pull off.
