The island of the Sun, in Lake Titicaca, a binational territory shared between Peru and Bolivia, is one of the most important sacred sites within the cosmogony of the Inca culture, ancient inhabitants of the high mountains of the Andes.
It is right on Lake Titicaca the place where the most widespread creation myth occurs within the Inca civilization: “when the god Viracocha emerged from the lake and created the sun (Inti), the moon (Mama Killa), the stars and the people "
You just have to have your senses wide awake to feel the imposing majesty of this magical place, the highest lake in the world at 3800 meters above sea level, walled with snow-capped giants, they create the context of a definitely unique atmosphere.
The lake is made up of several islands. The largest island, The Island of the Sun, was my chosen destination. And from the beginning of the trip it was one of the places that I most wanted to know, so I was very excited to be there.
I only had a couple of days on the island, and of course I regretted not being more time, to know better that peaceful place and perhaps other islands, but by that time my resources were beginning to run out and I had a long way back home with a deadline to honor an important commitment in Caracas.
I was able to do a long and pleasant walk where I was delighted with the majesty of the landscape and its beautiful light throughout the day. It is undoubtedly the perfect environment for the spirituality that we all carry beyond religions and that makes us human beings begins to flow.
My old Sony cybershot H7 responded very well to the different lighting situations, although for me, personally, the walk cost me a bad cold since I did not have enough coat with me for the changing and accelerated drop in temperature as soon as it began to hide the Sun, at more than 4000 meters of heights can usually reach 0 degrees without difficulty.

La isla del Sol, en el Lago Titicaca, territorio binacional compartido entre Perú y Bolivia, es uno de los sitios sagrados más importantes dentro de la cosmogonía de la cultura Inca, antiguos pobladores de las altas montañas de los Andes.
Es justo en el Lago Titicaca el lugar donde ocurre el mito de creación más extendido dentro de la civilización Inca: “cuando el dios Viracocha emergió del lago y creó el sol (Inti), la luna (Mama Killa), las estrellas y las personas”
Solo hay que tener los sentidos bien despiertos para sentir la majestuosidad imponente de este lugar mágico, el lago más alto del mundo a 3800 metros sobre el nivel del mar, amurallado de gigantes nevados, crean el contexto de una atmósfera definitivamente única.
El lago lo integran varias islas La isla más grande, La isla del sol, fue mi destino elegido. y ya desde el inicio del viaje era uno de los lugares que más deseaba conocer, asi que estaba muy emocionado de estar allí.
Tuve apenas un par de días en la isla, y por supuesto que lamenté no estar más tiempo, conocer mejor ese apacible lugar y quizás otras islas, pero para ese momento ya que mis recursos comenzaban a agotarse y tenía un largo camino de regreso a casa con una fecha límite para honrar un compromiso importante en Caracas.
Pude hacer una larga y amena caminata donde me deleité con la majestuosidad del paisaje y su hermosa luz durante todo el día. que sin duda es el ambiente perfecto para que empiece a correr la espiritualidad que llevamos todos más allá de las religiones y que nos hace seres humanos.
Mi vieja Sony cybershot respondió muy bien a las distintas situaciones lumínicas, aunque a mi, en lo personal, el paseo me costo un fuerte resfriado ya que no llevaba conmigo suficiente abrigo para el cambiante y acelerado descenso de temperatura a penas se empieza a ocultar el sol, a más de 4000 metros de alturas puede llegar habitualmente a 0 grados sin dificultad.
