I Tufted and Ruined My First Rug

Hi friends and strangers. A few weeks ago I began my tufting journey as a fiber artist. The tufting process wasn't so difficult at first, handling the gun did take some getting used to, but by the time I was done with my first rug and suffered some severe cramping on my ring finger, the next one was so much easier. At the end of one week, I had tufted five small rugs of different sizes on my Five by Four feet frame. I was hella impressed and looked forward to the carving and trimming part.

Now, about the carving - that is exactly how I ruined my first rug. I over did it in some part and ended up taking an abnormal chunk out, now there is literarily a hole on my rug. Mind you I watched several videos on carving before starting mine, but I guess some things you just have to learn by yourself for yourself. I have definitely learned from my mistakes and I feel good about the next one.

How Do I Feel About This Ruining My Rug?

Honestly, not bad. I though I would feel sad because it is my first rug and it was really cute and all that, but I am aware that I am on a learning process and I can't help but appreciate my mistakes because that means I am making some improvements. I have lost interest in carving thus particular rug but I am going to finish it so I can make all the mistakes I need to make on it.

I have Four more rugs to carve so I'm not even mad. However, I have taken a break to tend to my Web3 tasks and also check in here on Hive.

Thank you for stopping by. ❤️
