I went to church today and I witnessed something beautiful. An act of gesture and kindness towards two friends probably 4 or 5 but they were really small and could talk.
It's goes like this.
There are 6 people involved in this story and I'll be using actor names to replace their actual names.
- Dark Mum - Angela
- Daughter of the dark mum - Favour, 4
- Son of the dark mum - David, 7
Second family
- Fair mum - Naomi
- Fair dad - Daniel
- Daughter of the fair parents - Michelle, 4
How it all happened
Favour went to Angela to ask for biscuit and she gave do her, her brother David and her friend Michelle
Michelle told Favour that she can't accept the biscuit because her parents, Naomi and Daniel told her not to collect items from people.
Favour walked up to Michelle's parents and kindly asked them if she should give her friend the biscuit her mum gave her to give Michelle.
The parents were so moved by that act of hers and unconsciously approved for the girl to give their daughter the biscuit and immediately Michelle collected the biscuit.
Favour also gave her brother the last one she was holding.
I just sat and watched the little drama unfold. I said to myself both parents of the two girls brought them up quiet nicely and mannered.
Ordinarily, Michelle would have just collected the biscuit without telling her mum or without Favour asking for permission.
They knew the right thing to do and went for it. If this is instilled in our children as they're growing up, they'll be well mannered in the future.
