Every autumn, in the area near the main square of the small village called Shishan, about seven kilometers from my hometown ...
... the ground gets covered with these yellow fruits.
They fall from an old tree that is there since ... I don't know exactly, it looks like forever to me.
This is the Juglans nigra, commonly known as eastern American black walnut, introduced in Europe long ago, according to the Wikipedia article, exactly in 1629.
The fruits and the foliage have a nice yellow coloration in early autumn ...
... and in winter, when the leaves are gone, the branches and twigs display an elegant structure that looks like the nervous system of some alien creature.
Here the branches are trying to catch the moon ... or so it seems.
In winter, the fruits that are not taken or removed, get brown and look deteriorated. The once bright yellow envelope is rotten ...
... but the nuts in the center of the fruit are in good conditions ... and they taste good.
Last winter, when I took these winter photographs, quite a few nuts ended up accidentally but quite nicely arranged around some old rusty machine ... I don't remember what machine exactly, and I photographed only a detail, not the whole thing ...
... so I can't tell you what it was, but I can tell you ... and show you, that it looked cool in combination with the fallen nuts.
This photograph was taken a few weeks ago.
The foliage was abundant and green.
This shot is taking the story back to the autumn of 2020. The leaves are turning yellow ...
... and that, in combinations with many colorful fruits, creates a beautiful seasonal atmosphere. On the following photographs, taken some weeks later in 2020 ...
... many fruits have fallen ...
... some of them ended up on rooftops of parked cars ...
... and with these fragments of the last autumn, the post has come to its end.
Hope you enjoyed this little walk through the seasons around the tree. As always in these posts on HIVE, the photographs are my work - THE END.

Hi @borjan,I suppose they are too heavy for the branches, and they look like this, but I like what you say, although some are lost, inside the nuts taste good, the rusty device looks like a bike in part, and if it matches the color of the fruits , I hope that those that fall on the cars do not damage anything because of their weight.
I wish you a happy Tuesday the 13th, like the movie, but much more pleasant and happy.
:)
