From Schoolwork to Pool Party: A Day of Fun with Friends🌊☀️🕶

Sunshine and smiles, Hivers! I'm back again for the last blog for this week. In this blog, I'm going to share with all of you how I and my friends made our final project until we had a getaway! Let's get started!

One of our professors gave us a final project, which was to visit one of the places here in Cebu. My professor assigned us in Sogod and Borbon, and we should identify their culture, the delicacies, and how they are made.

We decided to go early in the morning so we will finish this by the afternoon. As you can see, the sky was so beautiful when we were traveling to Bourbon because at that time, it was 6AM in the morning.

As you can see in the picture, this is us arriving at the municipality of Borbon. The duration of the travel from Danao City to Borbon is a 2-hour ride, which is quite exhausting. We just ask some locals here in Borbon what their delicacies are and how they are made. One of the locals that we interviewed said that they have this delicacy, which is the "Takyong," or bush snail. He also said that we cannot find that right now because that was their dying culture, which they only cook when they celebrate fiesta in their town, or some of the locals who usually cook that can be found in mountain areas. As of the moment, that's all we knew about their delicacies; that's why we just went to Sogod so that we could ask some locals what their delicacies are.

This is us, taking a picture on the motorcycle while we travel from Borbon to Sogod. At that time, we are very exhausted because of the heat that we feel and the hunger that we feel.

As you can see in the picture, we have already touched down in the municipality of Sogod. We started to ask some locals what their delicacies are, and all of them told us that their delicacies are "Tuba" (coconut wine) and "Torta" (Visayan sponge cake). We are lucky because we found a store that sells torta, and I and my friends buy some torta so we can give it to my professor and also treat ourselves since we are very hungry at that time. After we eat and relax, one of my friends chatted with us that we should celebrate by going to the house of Fhaneza's grandmother to have fun and swim. We took a jeep and went straight to Fhaneza's grandmother's house.

During our trip, unexpectedly we see our other friends in Catmon, and they find a jeep to ride on, and they see the jeep that we ride. As you can see in the picture, we ride the jeep together with friends. We are very happy, and so much chattering began. We also plan out what we will eat and do during our fun party in Fhaneza's grandmother's house.

We arrived at the house of Fhaneza's grandmother. We arrived at noon in the afternoon, and all of us were very hungry. They have a wide pool that we can use to celebrate and relax. Since we don't have any clothes to bring, Fhaneza gave us swimwear that we can use while taking a swim in their pool. We eat first before we take a swim.

My one friend captured some photos of us while we were swimming. At that time, we had the best relaxation and fun, and I think we deserve it because we are done making our final project.

This is me, having the best relaxation in the pool. My friend takes a photo of me while I'm relaxing. I'm just riding the inflatable pool float raft while watching them have some fun with each other. This kind of getaway with friends I've been longing for since we are very exhausted and also tired from academic pressure because at this time, we are 2nd-year college students in the second semester, and the second semester is a very stressful semester in college.

We also jump to the pool since they have this bar that we can climb, and then we can jump to the water. I tried it once, but I never repeat it because I'm afraid of heights. My friends keep repeating jumping because they really have some fun jumping into the pool.

During our swimming, some of our friends decided to cook food because they felt hungry while swimming. That's why they cook Pancit Canton, and we are just waiting for them to finish cooking. We eat the pancit canton beside the pool, and after we eat, we swim again at the pool.

We also play at the pool like one of our friends will ride on our back, and then we will push the opponent. As you can see in the picture, I ride on my back while our opponents, Fhaneza and Khim, keep pushing us.

The entire duration of swimming at the pool lasted until night. We decided to take a bath and go home when we felt cold while swimming at the pool, and some of the relatives of Fhaneza took a swim at the pool. We decided to go home and say thank you to the family of Fhaneza and also her relatives.

And that's the end of my blog, Hivers! All of us should celebrate after we have an accomplishment in our lives. That way, we can motivate ourselves and make our minds relax. Spending time with friends is a great experience and fun. These memorable memories of mine will keep this forever in my mind. I am very thankful that my friends also celebrate what they accomplished in their lives with us because that's the sweetest thing that a group of friends does.
