Sunshine and smiles, Hivers! I'm back again for another blog for this week. In today's blog, I will share with you all how my classmates get ready for our restaurant making for our final project. Let's get started!
Last year, our professor told us that our final project is the restaurant making. All of us feel anxious because this is the first time that we will be serving plenty of people, and also, our professor gave us just a little bit of time to get ready for the restaurant making. Before the said event, all of us were very busy preparing for tomorrow's event. Some of us are getting some resources to the town while others are planning and assigning tasks so all the work is done smoothly.
As you can see, these are my classmates who got some cardboard boxes from a hardware shop. These cardboard will be used for the decorations for our restaurant making. We are very thankful that this hardware shop that they visited gave them these cardboard boxes for free.
Here are some of my classmates who work hard dismantling those wood boxes from bananas because these wood and boxes will be used as our design for our booths and some corners of our restaurant-making. We are making a rustic country-themed restaurant wherein the color scheme of our restaurant is brown and white. That's why we used wood and other things that fit our theme.
As you can see in the photo, this is us finishing our souvenirs for the restaurant-making. This souvenir was made by me, and I brought it to the school so my classmates would weave the ends of the yarn since I did not weave it. I decided to sponsor the souvenirs because I want our customers to say that it is very worth it, what they pay. It is to make it more memorable by just giving them a souvenir.
We also started to decorate the inside of the venue. The venue is very big and can accommodate plenty of guests. Some of my classmates were very attentive and helpful during this time even though we're very exhausted from schoolwork and everything. Some of us continue planning on how we will design the entire venue because we think that our resources cannot fit the overall venue. That's why we made revisions in designing and changes of plan.
As you can see in the pic, all of us are making the centerpiece that we will put on the tables. These centerpieces are recycled. We used a Smirnoff bottle for the vase, and then we wrapped the center using brown yarn, and then we put some artificial flowers and branches and added fairy lights to make it look perfect.
This is what it looks like the finish design of wood boxes. We put some centerpieces and then put some leaves so it would complement. Some boxes were put with flowers because some of our resources cannot accommodate other pieces because of the capacity we had.
Some of my classmates made some lavenders with different colors. These pieces would be designed for our booth since we decided to have a booth for our restaurant, making it add more activities for our customers. Customers can go for our photo booth to take pictures, and also we had our own photographer to take the best shot for our customers.
As you can see in the picture, my friends painted the cardboard boxes brown. These boxes will be used for the stage design. Instead of buying some decorative stuff that is very expensive, why don't we recycle some cardboard boxes? This idea made us save more money.
As you can see in the picture, this is the final look for our centerpiece. It's very nice, and it fits our rustic country theme. I really love the idea of making this because this centerpiece could be used in other events, as you can see. You will not think that this centerpiece is made from recycled materials.
As you can see in the picture, this is us in the middle of the night while still designing the entire venue. At that time, we were very tired and exhausted because it was 11pm in the evening, and still, we were not finished yet. Some of us are going home, and some of us stayed at the venue and continued to decorate the whole event. When the security of the school told us that we should go home because the school would lock the gate, that's the time that we decided to go home even though the design is not yet finished.
When the morning comes, we come early to the school and go straight to the venue. We continue designing the venue. At this time, we are in a rush because the event will start in the evening, and we still have plenty of things to finish. As you can see in the picture, this is the final look in our entrance. We decided to cover it with a newspaper so people that cannot enter the venue will not peek inside and also to match the theme. The signage and the wood boxes are not yet finished. My classmate put it out there so she can see the overall design if it should be continued or not.
This will be the finished look for the photo booth and the message booth. We put in the message booth so our customers can leave feedback on our services and also on our restaurant. The booth is still not finished yet since we need to stick some paintings at the back to make it even look like the Renaissance period. As you can see in the one picture, this is our front desk, wherein customers will go there and give their tickets to our muse and also help them guide the customers where they will sit.
This will be the final look for our souvenirs; it's so simple and yet very nice. We decided to put it on the table so customers can see it and can get just one souvenir.
And that's the end of my blog, Hivers! I know my blog is a little bit of a hanging cliff because I just ended it even though it's not yet done, but then again, you can read part 2 for this blog in my next upload. In my next upload, I am going to share how our restaurant is doing and how we survived even though this is our first time making a restaurant.
Thank you for reading my blog, and see you in my next blog! Ciao!
I remember how we worked so hard for this event and how many things we learned from this event! I miss this 😍
Yes, the struggles and the sacrifices has been payed off
Another's trash is your gold, but your trash can also be your gold! I loved the creativity and resourcefulness shown in turning trash into rustic masterpieces - those centerpieces and photo booth decorations were particularly impressive!
Thank you! As a student, we really improvise since we're out of funds! It's been a incredibly experience that we can actually be creative in just recycling trashes to make it more beautiful and rustic! Haha
Very yopak ang preparation but the outcome has paid off.
