La llave de la felicidad | The key of happiness (ES - ENG)

Una de las frases que más me marcó el año pasado fue “la felicidad es una elección”.

Esta frase definitivamente tocó fibras en mi ser que hicieron reflexionar acerca del enfoque que le estaba dando a mi vida y en la importancia que le había dado a la felicidad entre las cosas que deseaba para mi vida; sobre todo porque hasta entonces había pensado que la felicidad es algo que se debe buscar y no algo que se debe elegir.

Conociendo esto, creo que es prudente que nos preguntemos si realmente hemos estado eligiendo vivir felices o si por el contrario nuestra vida ha estado determinada por la creencia de que nuestra felicidad se encuentra en un elemento externo a nosotros mismo.

Esto podría marcar la diferencia en nuestra forma de disfrutar nuestros días: conocer que la llave de la felicidad está sencillamente en escoger ser felices.

One of the phrases that most marked me last year was "happiness is a choice".

This phrase definitely touched fibers in my being that made me reflect on the approach I was giving to my life and on the importance I had given to happiness among the things I wanted for my life; especially because until then I had thought that happiness is something to be sought and not something to be chosen.

Knowing this, I think it is wise for us to ask ourselves if we have really been choosing to live happily or if on the contrary our life has been determined by the belief that our happiness is to be found in an element external to ourselves.

This could make all the difference in how we enjoy our days: knowing that the key to happiness lies simply in choosing to be happy
