Being a Filipino teacher major in mathematics, I'm not only teaching about numbers. I'm not fond of writing as well but I'm teaching them all how to be creative and brought them in a new society without fears. We show them the new society lifestyle inside the far-flung mountain.
The people in this place would go to a distant place if they want to study in high school. They have to walk for several hours reaching the main school where I had been started.
Until one day, our headteacher told the three of us to start a new extension high school far away inside the forest. Without any question, we decided and obeyed what the principal said without any question.
We had no room and we started my making makeshift with the help of the students. The room that was made from woods was realized 13 years ago. We rendered the best education to the students and we were overwhelmed by the love of the students with their parents to us.
I will show you how we made things possible on the mountain. Let me share around the world how Filipinos gave the importance of education.
January 2020 3rd Quarter Culmination
Every quarter we have culmination and the most awaited part for the students. We must have a big celebration and the mountain people were at a party.
I just remembered the time, we started school here. We had just a few students but now, there are students from the other places who came here. So the population is increasing. The government also gave us additional educators and even provided us new concrete rooms and computers. But still, we are using this kind of stage for our programs.
The students were dancing and we rendered competition and gave prizes to good performance.
This place is also an open-air room during normal days.
We have all like a family relationships. This is the best part of our life by profession, when we felt the students like our own family and how the student gave us respect. They are so easy to develop unlike students in urban places.
Most awaited part
We should prepare foods every culmination that will accommodate all the number of students.
These foods were just ordinary in the city but in the mountain, these are so special.
The students were helping each other in preparation and cooking. It's also a way of teaching them how to budget in marketing and how to cook certain recipes.
The Filipino recipe is called pansit.

Organized distribution
After the party, the most awaited part before going home was the lunch break.
All students were required to bring their own plate every time we had a party. They must be falling in line to avoid the commotion. They were patiently waiting for their part to receive the food given by my co-teachers.
All were given equal parts of the foods. No one went home forbidden. All were so happy and we made this 4 times a year aside from other celebrations.
It really felt a great accomplishment more than just as a teacher. I have no child on my own but so happy with all my students.
