Best trekking shoes and socks?

in GEMS4 years ago

Due to the pandemic the swimming pool in my town was completely closed for almost the entire year. So I felt I needed some other type of activity to remain in shape. I rediscovered my love for nature and I started to do slow walks. At the beginning I couldn't even climb a hill without feeling exhausted. I felt like giving up. I persevered. From 1 hour, I advanced to 2 hours, 3 hours and so on. Now I almost feel unbalanced emotionally if I can't do my trekking in the weekends. I go out for 6 to 7 hours and I love it.

The shoes I have been wearing were not for trekking. This was not good for my feet. I came back home every time with blisters and really sore feet. I didn't realize that the trekking needed other type of footwear.

I asked my fellow hiveian friend @gabrielatravels what kind of shoes should I get. I admire her style and her dedication for hiking. She made some excellent recommendations and I decided to go for Salomon brand. These are the shoes I have chosen

I look forward to test them all as I have found nature and trekking to be therapeutic and healing for me. What kind of shoes do you use for trekking? How about socks?

Have a lovely day and toodle loo!

Ha, you are one step in front of me when we think about hiking equipment because I don't own any socks for this kind of activity haha. Anyway, great picks!

Hahahaha awesome, thank you, I am so happy and I can't wait to wear them for hours and hours

Thats the best choice hands down. Salmon gtx is a professional hiking shoe loved and admired by hikers all over the world. It works well on any terrain and the ventilation is super awesome. Combined with merino wool, they can be worn on hardest of the trekking trails upto 7k - 7.5k mtrs. One of my friend bought it from europe as it isn’t available in my country. I also wanted to buy it but then , cost 💁‍♂️. Which increases even further if I export it to india. I will settle for columbus, or some decathlon.

But it is a worthy purchase, you wouldn’t ever regret it.

Hello! Well I am so happy to hear a confirmation like this. My feet deserve the very best, I deserve the very best and with trekking one must be careful to choose wisely as comfort is really important. I have also heard about this brand and I thought oh wow expensive. Now I say oh wow totally worth the money.
Merino wool is recommended all season as it helps the foot to breathe, I am so happy about this as I really love to spend a lot of time in nature.
Thank you for reading this and have a great day!
