Sunday Stamps ~ Moraine Lake

Perhaps one of my favourite destinations in all the Canadian Rockies. Of course I’m talking about “Moraine Lake,” located inside Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. From canoeing to magnificent hiking, Moraine Lake is outstanding. This $2 stamp was issued back in 1985, and was part of the National Parks series. If you look closely at my profile picture, it is the same! Moving on to the $5 issue of “La Mauricie” National Park, it is located in the eastern province of Quebec. This park is known for its plentiful lakes, 150 lakes in all — wow, that is a lot of lakes! Lastly we have a 15 cent Christmas “Snowflake” stamp, issued in 1971. Thanks for stopping by.

Banff sure looks beautiful, and I can see why you love going there! Those are really nice stamps, that snowflake one was done really well. The red on the blue worked out so nicely, you must have an amazing stamp collection! Stamps for me have always been herder to collect than coins because there are just so many of them. Today's stamps may one day be valuable because fewer and fewer are made depending on electronic labels. Yesterday I was looking at prices to mail an item priority mail here in the US ironically going to Canada, but if you go in person to the post office they charge you and extra three dollars to mail a package. They want everything done electronically, so today's stamps may be worth a pretty penny in the future!

There can certainly be a lot of stamps, probably too many worldwide. I just stick with Canadian stamps for now. If and when I finish the collection, I'll have a look at collecting US stamps, maybe. I do collect US silver coins already.

The second stamp shows clear details and better views of the lake. Love it

Someday will need to visit eastern Canada and check out this park!

BANFF! Always wanted to go!

Someday, gotta get up here!

The first one is the best, gives more a "nature park" feeling and looks very Canadian 😅

My favourite as well. A place I have visited numerous times.

Did u have these all before or u are collecting them new ??

I am a relatively new collector. Most of these I have purchased within the last couple of years.

Coo photos, I think I see the loc nest monster in the middle of the water

No loc nest, but I see a Sasquatch..

The stamps you display have very beautiful images and are definitely full of stories.

Yes, each stamp tells a story, one of the reasons they can be so interesting to look at.

Beautiful stamps! 🇨🇦
