The telephone — remember that? Invented by Alexander Graham Bell back in 1874. The “telephone” remained popular until about about 2013, 2014 or so, and that is when cell phones or mobile phones gradually overtook them in popularity or usefulness. This stamp commemorates the 100 year anniversary of it’s invention.
First time since 1912, that the World cycling championships was held in North America: Summer of 1974, Montreal, Quebec. Significance marked with the issuance of this 8 cent stamp.
The last 8 cent stamp highlights the Mennonites arrival to the Canadian Prairies, Manitoba specifically. In and around the 1870’s and 1880’s is when this ethnic group immigrated to our country, the mennonites are a Christian based religious type of people.

Cool looking stamps. I like the picture of the first one. Although I grew up using mobile phones, I still saw a few organisation using the telephone. We called it the landline.

Landlines are still popular at any business location and may never go away completely. Thanks.

Yeah, they may never go away, I tend to think they're the gold standard of many businesses

Yes that is right.

the telephone has been a great invention, mobile phones basically killed it but still it changed the world... nice stamp there!

Life changing really....thanks for looking.

That first one is a gem. I love the design they worked out for the 100th anniversary. That is a great stamp to have collected. The other two are nice as well, but that first one takes the cake!

I like them stamps that actually represent an anniversary or milestone. Thanks for looking.

I remember meeting this inventor in the second year of elementary school.

Oh, tell me more about that?

Hello, when I was in the second grade of elementary school, one of the textbooks mentioned the inventor of the telephone, and I found out that Graham Bell was the inventor of the telephone.

Always fun to learn about science and history in school!

Childhood and school are truly enjoyable.

Seeing your post reminds me of the physics exam questions I had when I was in high school.

lol, going "back to school" on Hive!

I like the older stamps, I wonder if they hold any value.

These ones here aren't really worth more than face value. Anything older than the 1950's tend to have more collector value, but only some of them.

Thank you very much my brother for sharing such a great post, and the pictures are also very interesting to look at, have a nice day ♥️♥️♥️

Glad you liked it.

I remember seeing an old phone like that pictured one somewhere. We have come a way from those

Yeah, virtually everyone owns a cell phone now. I'd say about 99% of all people.

Yes, yeah now if you Don't own one, you brag about not havin' one. Jesse ' the body ' Ventura says he doesn't have one
