Hello Hivers… yet another day and along with it is yet another story. This story however has all the elements of mythology, war, drama and horror in it. Yes, it is a story of none other than one of the most haunted places in the world “The Bhangarh Fort”. So let’s get going…
Located at the border of the Sariska Tiger Reserve in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, Bhangarh Fort is a 17th-century fort, allegedly known to be the 'Most haunted place in India'. Various paranormal and ghostly experiences by the local people have been a subject of suspense and wonders for many years now. And hence, it won’t be an overstatement to claim that people have been curious and suspicious of what lies within. Due to the large number of haunted events being encountered by people, it was then prohibited to enter the fort at night.
THE STORY BEHIND THE HAUNTED FORT
The story takes us back in 17th century when it was erected by King Man Singh for his son Prince Madho Singh.
Stories say that before King Man Singh build the Bhangarh fort; he took permission for the same from a Sadhu (Ascetic) named Bala Nath who then lived within the walls of the fort. The Sadhu agreed to the request of the King but on a condition that the shadow of the fort must never cover his house and if that happened the city will perish. The King very well kept the condition, but his descendants failed to keep up with the condition and added to the fortifications vertically, leading to the Sadhu’s house being covered by the fort’s shadow. As a result, the fort was cursed and it became haunted forever.
However, as any other haunted place, this is not the only story that explains the reason of its curse. There is another story that more popular among villagers as the real reason behind the doom of the place.
The more popular story claims that Princess Ratnavati, a very beautiful princess of Bhangah caught the attention of Tantrik (Black Magician) Singhia, who practiced dark arts. He confessed his love and tried to win her over but she refused. Therefore, he bewitched a perfume to make her fall in love with him. But, the princess came to know of this and she poured the entire bottle over a huge boulder which supposedly crushed the Tantrik to death. Right before taking the last breath, the tantric placed a curse on the town and its inhabitants that no one will ever live there in peace. And this marked the collapse of the fort and the town therefore making it a haunted place since.
The beautiful looking Fort in the day turns out to be the scariest and unexplained pile of events at night. No one is allowed to enter the Bhangarh Fort at night as a result of many local tales about paranormal activities.
The entire place is filled with chilling hollowness and eternal gloom once the sun sets down. It is often said that the spirits of people who dies in the fort still roams around and their noises can be heard at night. Not to forget that incidents also claim that if a person enters the fort at night, he might not return in the morning.
Few local villagers also state that they feel their movements are being watched and the air is charged with heavy dizziness.
Undoubtedly the place holds numerous haunted stories to begin with, accompanies by disappearing people who ever tried to spend a night inside the fort. Anyways… who knows the real mystery behind the place. We can only assume…
I hope you like the post, until next time…BBye!!

Lol, there is no end of the stories. We were about 8-10 people when we visited there. Most were scared to enter the place because of the haunted stories.
So, we didn't spent much time, but clicked some good pics. Rajasthan is a truly amazing place. Lots of history over there.
True indeed. Rajasthan is a place of great stories and architectural heritage, all of them capable of giving you chills down your spine.
Well, visiting the place with such greenery will never give you the idea of the being haunted but eventually as the darkness dawns upon, it goes from beauty to terror.
I'm happy you could visit and experience by yourself.
