He pasado mucho tiempo ausente en Hive, pero el día de hoy quiero retomarlo de una manera particularmente personal, y que mejor que hablar sobre una experiencia que cambió mi vida por completo y que hoy en día considero que es de las mejores cosas que me han pasado, y que en menor o mayor medida sigue siendo parte de mi día a día, y es la música y como ha influido en mi vida.

Hace aproximadamente 15 años que todo comenzó y fue cuando escuché el riff de la canción Welcome to the Black Parade de la banda My Chemical Romance, el cual despertó en mi un gran interés por el rock . En ese entonces yo vivía en un pequeño pueblo muy alejado de la ciudad, una zona bastante rural, motivo por el cual no contaba con ningún medio para acceder a la música de este estilo, ya que en mi localidad predominaban otros géneros, como el reggaeton y la salsa, por lo cual el rock en general era un género despreciado y mal visto. En esa época la manera de adquirir la música era por medio de CD's , pero ya que el rock era un género impopular ningún vendedor contaba con CD's de este tipo de música, además la tecnología del internet aún no llegaba a esa zona, por lo cual no tenía forma alguna de obtenerla a través de un servicio de streaming como lo hacemos hoy en día.

Recuerdo que en esos tiempos veía mucho el canal MTV donde transmitían un programa de música llamado "Los 10 más pedidos" y generalmente eran del género Pop/Rock, no obstante lo disfrutaba mucho ya que era el único medio por el cual podía escuchar música de ese estilo. Gracias a eso descubrí muchas bandas y artistas de esa época como Panda, Fall Out Boys, Motel, 30 Seconds to Mars, Panic at the Disc, entre otros.

Llegó un momento en mi vida en que ya no solo me conformaba con escuchar música, sino que también quería tocarla y transmitir a través de ella esa pasión que sentía por la música. Le pedí a mi papá una guitarra, y luego de tanto insistirle me compró mi primera guitarra acústica, era una de esas guitarras chinas, por lo tanto no era de marca y era de mala calidad.
There came a time in my life when I was not only satisfied with listening to music, but I also wanted to play it and transmit through it that passion that I felt for music. I asked my dad for a guitar, and after insisting so much, he bought me my first acoustic guitar, it was one of those Chinese guitars, therefore it wasn't brand name and it was of poor quality.
Al no contar con ningún recurso para aprender a tocar el instrumento mi interés se fue apagando, aún queriendo aprender no tenía la forma de hacerlo, pues en mi localidad no había ningún tipo de curso, escuela, o academia a la cual pudiera asistir para aprender, tampoco contaba con acceso a internet para intentar hacerlo por mi cuenta, y siendo yo un niño de unos 12 o 13 años no tuve más opción que abandonar mi deseo de aprender a tocar la guitarra. En vista de esto, colgué la guitarra en la pared, donde pasó varios meses llenándose de polvo, hasta que un día se cayó y se rompió por completo.
By not having any resources to learn to play the instrument, my interest faded, even wanting to learn, I had no way to do it, because in my town there was no type of course, school, or academy that I could attend to learn. , I also did not have access to the internet to try to do it on my own, and being a child of about 12 or 13 I had no choice but to abandon my desire to learn to play the guitar. Los años pasaron y yo cada vez escuchaba música más pesada, y en el año 2009 compré mi primer disco de metal de la banda Metallica llamado "The Black Album" el cual cambió mi vida por completo, marcando el inicio de una nueva etapa en cuanto a mis gustos musicales, y despertó en mi nuevamente las ganas de querer aprender a tocar la guitarra.
The years passed and I listened to heavier music each time, and in 2009 I bought my first metal album from the band Metallica called "The Black Album" which changed my life completely, marking the beginning of a new stage in terms of to my musical tastes, and it awakened in me again the desire to want to learn to play the guitar.
Convencí a mi papá de comprarme otra guitarra, y el al notar mi interés accedió a comprarme una nueva, pero esta vez de mejor calidad y mucho mejor que la primera, a la cual llamé Patricia y aún conservo. Cabe destacar que en ese entonces ya contaba con servicio de internet en casa, y a diferencia de la primera vez ahora si tenía un recurso con el cual poder aprender a tocar la guitarra. El internet fue de gran ayuda, ya que fue mi único medio de aprendizaje, nunca fui a ninguna academia, ni curso ni escuela de música, todo lo que se hoy en día sobre la guitarra y música en general lo aprendí de manera autodidacta, sin embargo, algunas veces pedí consejos y pequeñas asesorías a algunas personas con conocimientos en el tema.
I convinced my dad to buy me another guitar, and when he noticed my interest he agreed to buy me a new one, but this time of better quality and much better than the first one, which I called Patricia and I still have. It should be noted that at that time I already had internet service at home, and unlike the first time now I had a resource with which to learn to play the guitar. The internet was of great help, since it was my only means of learning, I never went to any academy, course or music school, everything I know today about guitar and music in general I learned in a self-taught way, without However, sometimes I asked some knowledgeable people for advice and little advice.
Al día de hoy, más de 10 años después y con más de 5 guitarras puedo decir que todo este trayecto musical ha sido muy enriquecedor de manera personal, me he rodeado de muchas personas, he hecho muchos amigos gracias a la música, he formado bandas, aprendí a mezclar y grabar, he compuesto canciones, he estado en escenarios tocando en diferentes eventos musicales, y actualmente doy clases de música y de guitarra eléctrica/acústica de manera informal , lo cual me hace pensar que la música ha sido lo mejor a lo que he dedicado mi vida y lo que más aprendizajes me ha dejado.
To this day, more than 10 years later and with more than 5 guitars, I can say that this entire musical journey has been very enriching in a personal way, I have surrounded myself with many people, I have made many friends thanks to music, I have formed bands , I learned to mix and record, I have composed songs, I have been on stage playing in different musical events, and currently I teach music and electric / acoustic guitar in an informal way, which makes me think that music has been the best to what I have dedicated my life and what I have learned the most.
