Hello gorgeous people of hive , its my jollof rice cooking exercise yesterday evening for dinner,
I decided to make my next post on GEM to be this cooking of jollof rice because i believe most of my friends from other countries and states might not know how some of we africans make our food .
In my next post i might still be teaching us how to make other delicacies with no much spicy or condiments .
Jollof rice is one of africans preffered food ,i know some other countries might love this too but we africans have our own ways of preparing it depending on which pattern you would want to use;
You can decide to make jollof , fried or white then served with stew , sauce or pepper soup , but i will be writting on the jollof way of making rice ;
Ingredients used: *White rice (4 cups)
* Water for washing and parboiling
* Groundnut oil ( as needed)
* Onions (2balls)
Fresh Tomatoes( moderate)
Satchet tomatoe (optional)
Maggi cube(1 cube if its knorr or 2 as the case maybe)
Salt ( 1 and 1/2 tablespoon full)
Fish or meat ( any of it as desired)
*Crayfish ( as desired)
*Pepper (as desired)
- Any chicken flavoured spicy(optional)
Procedures: * get your pot , uncooked
rice and condiments ready
*wash and parboil your rice, put it down after 5minutes and wash again into a bowl or big sieve and keep it aside;
put a dry pot on fire, add your oil , and leave it to heat well
then add your onions , allow to heat for 60minutes
most times i decides to add a pinch of salt to my onions but its optional;
add your sliced fresh tomatoes and fry it for 4minutes then add your satchet tomato paste ,its optional but it gives a nice paste and adds small reddish colour to your food; fry it for another 3minutes if no sour taste
- add your chicken flavour if any, and stir,
*add your maggi cube , salt , grinded
pepper and grinded crayfish and stir
*add your fish or meat ; in most cases , i seasons my meat or fresh fish but here i used a different type of fish which was discovered to be very nutritous and medicinal.
*stir all very well and add water ,enough to cook the rice
*allow to boil well
*Then add your parboiled rice and turn small to mix well with the rice and water.
allow water to dry
,then ready to serve
This is my less stressful way of cooking my jollof rice , i love eating eating jollof rice and that makes the family adapt to eating it once every week.
I would wish we try cooking jollof rice with that fish so as to have a taste of it on food.
I dont always use flavours on my food as i would want it natural but that fish gives it a taste those flavors would give.
I wish i can invite my friends here
to come join me next time in my jollof rice meal but its quite unfortunate the distance would be a barrier...smiless..... have a wonderful day ahead.

Hahaha ,you are free to come sir,food plenty ooo,and fried chicken is available aswell.
But come with your tummy alone dont come with any other ..smiles....
