I am so pleased that my latest Cartoon Mania class has filled up. It looks like parents are eager to have their children thrive with different extracurricular activities, at a time when the world is slowly gaining some semblance of normalcy.
I am cautiously optimistic that these kids can sit down and focus for a time. They are usually on their best behaviour on the first day but if today was any indication, they stand to improve their art skills quite a bit over this session.
I can feel the Brazilian flair here with the green and yellow colour palette. Out of 10 participants, 3 can speak Portugese, can you believe it.
She felt very proud when I complimented about the tall wave section of the egg. It's a great way to divide up the space! The little chickadee is very cute indeed, and she used the daffodil drawing I made as an example on the white board.
I like how this egg is saturated, with bold lines to accentuate its form. The rabbit looks a bit quirky, with a fantasy colour scheme.
Here we have a Pokémon infused creation where the colour palette blends the egg and the creature. It's always a good idea to pick a subject that interests you. Don't feel discouraged by the raw talent of this boy, he has a lot of practice drawing Pokémon!
I like this simple style. You could turn it into an emoji in a jiffy! She is my youngest artist, and I have to remember to be extra patient and encourage her to express herself with spontaneity. She will get a pass around the majority of my assignments and with compromise, she can blend with the rest.
I recently realized that I can bring my laptop and plug it on the TV belonging to the community Centre. What a revelation!
What better way to start us off than with some entertainment? But rest assured, we will press pause on some frames to copy famous characters such as the cast of My Little Pony.
I used to looove the 80s iteration of this phenomenon and my cousin was so mad when her mom decided to give me all her toys! I would be too. Does that make me a Brony?
Well, that's it for today folks!
What do you think, aren't these drawings just adorable?
Thanks for dropping by and keep the flame stoked, creative and rainbow-coloured!
