Hello everyone, it has been a while here, I believe you're all doing good.
The travel to my home town kept me away from participating on this great platform, it was a wonderful experience after so many years in the city of Lagos. The journey was kind of rough though but at the end only God is to be glorified for the to and fro journey mercy granted I and my family members who joined in travelling.
My late grand mom was finally led to rest during my travel to my home town in Akwa Ibom state.
On the first day of my arrival in my hometown I had to rushed to the stream, it was such a great feelings after so many years of my departure from the village to the city. So many changes, everything has changed over the years, the stream that used to be big has been resized even the bush path to the stream has closed gradually cos people no longer go to the stream regularly like before because of the introduction of tap and borehole water in the village but because I missed bathing in the stream I had to go with my uncle and sister. It felt good bathing in the stream after so many years.
Afang leave that is normally used to prepare Afang soup or Okasi soup is populary planted by virtually all the families in the village, I came to realize that it's one of the sources of income to the villagers. A lot of people takes it as their part time job, focusing and putting all energy into it. The way and manner in which they groom it looks so lovely and beautiful to behold.
I came across a place, the villagers call it pumping. Pumping is a stream site where big machine inform of a boat and big pipe is used to pump out white clean sand from beneath the stream to it shore.
The Process
The big pipe will be lowered into the water, the big engine will be turned on and clean white sand will be coming out from the outlet placed on the shore. The sand is being used for building of houses, moulding of blocks, constructions etc.
Good to be back!
